Really you are comparing this to an iphone, the iphone is a paper weight compared to this. Its a mini laptop with an awesome camera and it records in hd and gps etc, you will pay top dollar for a HIGH end phone man!!!!!

I'm always amazed by comment from iphone fanboys, can't they just take out the specification sheets and compare?
iPhone is no more than a regular phone with a nice touchscreen UI, that's the only I can think about it's good, might be too good that people are ignoring all other shortcomings.

I was simply stating that the iPhone with all of its super hype and up sell was released for less then this.

I'm in no way a fan boy of any Apple products, IMO they are all *****.
    Thanks for the assumption.

Back to topic, any more release updates/news? I would definitely like to have this phone in the states.

I'm not trying to jump on your case at all and I certainly don't want to derail the conversation, but the iPhone was released at $499 and $599 WITH a 2-year contract, despite people's ability to exploit that system. Unlocked iPhones sell for more and have noticeably less features. This is a high-end unlocked phone and $650 is actually much less than I paid for several other unlocked phones in the past, and that was after they had been out for a couple months. This is the very first place to have one available unlocked and for $650? That's a steal for what it is. That said, I'm still holding out for a price drop and the 16gb version.

Also keep in mind, the Orange branded version is available for considerably less with a contract as well. I don't know how it translates with the exchange rate across the pond, but I've read people say that it's about the same deal as the iPhone+contract now.

I'm waiting on some answers for some questions I posted in another thread. I'd really like to hear your opinion on them as well if you could find the time. This was in response to another users very brief first impressions he posted and he had said the call quality isn't as good as other phones he's used, though not bad. I'd like to hear about that from as many users as possible, since it's so critical.

-Battery life; I'm already pretty confident it's going to be pretty impressive and I'm sure it will take you a couple days to get a good feel for it, but how long are you getting out of it? Is it going to need a charge every night or do you think it will last longer?

-Speaker volume; I've heard it's not as loud as past devices. What's your take compared to what you've used recently?

-Audio quality in video recording; Is your model recording audio with AMR at 8khz? If it is or is not, how do you feel about the quality of the audio in videos you have recorded? Does the audio quality improve if you use a lower quality, such as D1 or VGA?

    -General HD recording
; What are your impressions of it? Does it lag or deliver poor results for you? How well does the single LED work out for low light shots and recording?

-GIF performance; I've uploaded one of my favorite animated GIF images here: (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2455/...696023f7_o.gif) In a desktop browser, Mario's rocking out very fast, but all S60 devices I've used so far, the animation is very slow. How does is look on the OmniaHD in the standard Gallery? Or in the new Samsung kinetic gallery?

-Speed and operation; How fast does the phone feel as you use it? Do you feel the power of the faster processor doing its job? How fast do larger functions feel such as loading up the camera, lag time in between taking pictures, or loading heavy websites?

-AMOLED; How does it look outdoors in the sun? I'm not expecting much here since my girlfriend's N85 almost disappears in direct sunlight, but is the screen at least readable? (And how freakin' gorgeous is it compared to the rest of the phones you've used?)

-Applications; Have you had a chance to install anything, and if you have, did you run into any problems with any 3rd party apps?

-New Samsung goodies; How do you feel about TouchWiz and Photo Contacts? I have a feeling I'll be turning off TouchWiz when I get mine, but I'm really excited about the latter.

-Default ringtones; Good, bad? Feel like uploading them? (Install Y-Browser, navigate to Z>Data>Sounds, Options>Mark All, Copy, navigate to folder of choice on memory card/internal storage, Paste)

And last, how do you feel about the device overall? Is it a keeper for you or do you plan to return it? What else do you specifically like or dislike about it?

Thanks again for taking the time to answer and I apologize if I have bombarded you. I'm just very curious and am interested in hearing about its performance from a real user rather than all the video reviews on pre-production hardware that are already available.

Also let me know if YOU have any questions for me. I've read enough about the phone that I'm sure I could help you out and I would be glad to, if need be.

    I Received the phone today

    First impressions are loong great,

The screen is just MASSISE! and its crystal clear and virbrant never seen anything like on a phone.

The touch control is also preciexe and it is very easy to use although it will take a bit of time getting used to of course. Tge phone also has a light sensor which adjusts screen brightness automatically which is alos great.

It was not very sunny today so I can't really comment on how good the screen was in the sunlight.

The widgets work well and the 3 seperate scrrns you can customise indually it just a bouns.

As for phont contacts i have not tried this as yet.

The phone has an S60 operating system on it so didnt't feel differnt at all from using my N95.

The camera quakity is by far the best I have seen for an 8MP phone even in low light conditos with the flash off pictures seem to be clear and not distorted.

The video recroding is what all this phone is about and it is simply AWESOME there is no otherway to put it, It being HD it catches every little detail there is. I havn't really recorded much as I only got the phone today but it's living upto it's name.

The sound is quite loud on the phone but I have to say that it is noy as loud and detailed as my N95 or the 5800. The sound is more soft on this phone compared to them and you can't really feel the punch. This for me has to be the biggest drawback.

The music player is great to use and has some nice touches to it including sound effects and 5.1 surround. SOme other the effexts you can only use with earphones plugged in.

Another thing i didn't like it you can not edit any of the ewalizer presets.

Call quality i found was good and pretty loud to have the earpiece on full so i had to turn it down. Compred to opther phones i have used the sound of the other caller sounds a bideep and on dull volume the speaker does distort a bit.

I did try to install opera mini from thier site but once dowloaded I said there was an error with the certificte, So I don't know if this is the phone or the software.

As for battery life I fuully charged my phone and since then I have made a few calles used the camera, capured video, played games and listened to music a bit of everything really not forgetting bluetoothing data from my other ohine.

After doing all this I was left with 2 bars i think this is pretty good and it the kind that i got with my N95, but you have to look at the big screen the HD Video and all over the other higer spected bit of this phone to see the batter life is not so bad.

Over the days I will be able to tell properly how good the batery life really is.

As for default ringtones and picures you do not get much and what you do get is pretty boring. Also there is ONLY 1 message tone now who thought of that

The phone seems alot faster than my n95 and perfors well and there is no lagging I happy to say,

I got no memory card in the box and got 8Gb of internal memory which i think is more than enough, Besides that a got the chargre. USB cable which i was a bit diappointed that the phone does not have a mini USb port on it. I also good a wierd little clip thing that attaches to the phone and is meant to clip into somthing but I don't know what. I think it is a camera stand or somthing but can't figure out how to use it.

I even asked orange what it was and they didn't know as well so there you go.

All in all this is a great phone and i would highly recommend it, it's by far the best on the market right now. Besides the sounds quality i would give it 9/10

I hope this was some help to you guys who are alos looking to get this phone all I will is the phone only has minor faulty which you can expect with every phone.

So if your thing of getting this phone think no further and go for it!

Thanks for your comments. Just curious, did you try turning the phone sideways to hear the sound quality since there's a speaker on the bottom too? I don't know if that would make a huge difference, but it did on the N73 that shared the design!

I hope you decide to upload the ringtones as I'm curious, even if all the preinstalled content is boring.
