China Clone phone manufacturers are accused for copying design from other brand phones. But what about Nokia, The biggest phone manufacturer in the world? They do copy design from other brand too...
just put some example here, you can find picture yourself easily through google to compare if you are interested.
Nokia 7370 (released in DEC 2005) VS Sonyerrison s700 (released in Sep 2004)
N76 (2007) vs Motolora V3 (2004)
Nokia 6260 vs Sharp v802
N92 93 93i vs Motolora MPX....
there are still others models that copy other phone brands' design...
but does Nokia get acussed for doing this?
Did Nytimes ever criticize Nokia for stealing?

yes,can bring new visitors to my website is good,,but this is also a question worth discussingOriginally Posted by janeuner
When Nokla, etc clones a nokia phone it does not have the functionality that is expectd from the original Nokia. They are trying to trick you.
I assure you nokia does not pretend to be anyone elses phone.
I don't think Noklas want to trick people that they are high quality as Nokia...people choosing clone phones know what they are buying...because they know that with the same amount of money they could never buy a original phone of fashionable design
Do you make a difference between knock-offs and design copy? Look at the C-002 HiPhone. Is that a design copy?
well, there are clones that are gaining popularity now. like the sciphone i68+ and Meizu M8 which are iphone clones.
the sciphone has an official forums and like the real iphone have an upgradable firmware. i think right now it's version is 3.0a but apparently, they will be releasing v4 soon.
and about Meizu, some say it's faster than the iPhone.. so.. some clones or knockoffs are not really as bad as what others might think.
Are you seriously calling those copies? Better yet, stealing? If so, those are very weak examples. A copy or a "clone" is one thing. To be inspired by or similar is another. Chinese phone manufacturers "clone" other phones almost feature for feature and design for design. At the very least they get as close as they possibly can to it and they add their own twists so that they can give consumers and "upgrade" to it. iClone with 2 SIM cards anyone?China Clone phone manufacturers are accused for copying design from other brand phones. And btw, cell phones companies aren't the only ones to release phones that look similar in one way or another to other phones from other companies. Look at car manufacturers. Many times completely different companies with cars of the same class (sometimes not) have VERY similar styling cues to one another. Would you call it copying? Stealing even?
Oh and another thing, you wanna talk about clones? Feast your eyes on this.

Talking about clones, and the lowlifes that create them, just perpetuates it as a whole. (yes, now i'll wait for someone to pop in and say "so then why are you posting")

I know that Chinese manufacturers copy not only phone design, but also car design etc, but I don't believe that Nokia copies SE. That can't be true...
