You should have no problem with the G1 on AT&T. You will have to unlock it though. Videos on the G1 are ok.

The G1 should work on AT&T, correct? I'm not worried about having 3G, I have the data plan turned off so I'll only be using wifi. I've heard it's crappy at playing movies and stuff though. Is this true? I like to watch a lot of movies on my phone. Thank you.

Alright, thanks man.
i believe the Video issues people had on the G1 were a problem with Android 1.0 (or whatever version the G1 launched with). IIRC 1.5 (cupcake) fixed those issues.
1.5 also added the ability to record video with the camera.
incase you are interested in using 3G on the G1, Rogers Wireless (canada) just announced it will be selling the Dream (G1), and Magic on June 2nd. so the 3G will work with AT&T, on the Rogers model.
what kind of data plan do u need with the g1? is the blackberry plan okay with it?
Dont mean to thread jack, but what GPS software are you using CoolPhone?
except that you will be limited to using GPRS/EdgeOriginally Posted by CoolPhone

Hmm, for vid watching I would say that you want a VGA screen or higher, the G1 is HVGA, which definitely won't be as good as, say, the TP(2) or Diamond (2).
You know when the TP2 or D2 are coming out? With having the G1 on AT&T, I'd still get all the Google up dates and stuff, correct?
Yes, but I would wait until June when you can grab one from Rogers wireless in Canada because it will support At&t 3G bands.Originally Posted by PzykoSkillz

Someday they'll see the light. Or they won't, either way I don't care. I'll keep shining.
Phones I've owned
I don't use 3g. I've got my data connection blocked through AT&T... use wifi only.
