Exclamation Samsung ALIAS 2 Custom Ringtones

I just got the new Alias 2 yesterday and have been bashing my brains trying to get custom ringtones on it effectively.

You are able to copy from your microsd card, but only to my music unless the files are the same as Verizon's purchased sounds or ringtones. As was mentioned in the release thread, emailing them to you under 100kb, 15 seconds or less, and as a mid file works, BUT

If you want better copy of the ringtone, send it as an mp3 or even wav if you dare, just make sure it is UNDER 30 SECONDS LONG. I was able to send 1MB files this way and use them, as long as they were under 30 seconds! I don't know if that is the maximum, but this may help others in my situation.

to specify a little, email yourself at your 10 digit phone number @vzwpix.com

I sent 5 small files at once for text/mms/vm alerts, but they were all ~100kb.

Last night I sent myself 20 different text noises and ringtones.

    *I emailed them to myphonenumber@vzwpix.com.
*I used both .wav and .mp3 formats.
*They had to be UNDER 30 SECONDS.
*The largest file size I sent was 792kb.

Length seemed to be the only limiting factor on emailing them to me.

to clarify, if it's over 30 seconds does it reject it or just make it crappy quality?

I tried 2 tests. one was 2.5mb and it rejected, the other was 1.3mb and about 45 seconds and it sent it but made it really bad quality.

I guess i can test this myself but I'm just wondering if the short clips you guys tried are full mp3 quality (just play the same file in the media player app to compare)

    EDIT:
confirmed, if it's over 30 sec but under 2mb it will send but compress the quality down to ****, if it's under 30sec it should be full mp3 quality.
(this is after about 5 minutes of testing so sorry if I'm wrong)

Hey I've done all of these methods above and my phone still won't recognize any of my ringtones I don't want to do any of the methods that require codes and so on because I'm just not smart enough for that Every time I send a tone to my phone with my e-mail, it sends me an e-mail back immediately that says WAP error. Then I try to use my SD card and it still won't recognize them What could I be doing wrong?!

do you want the factory ring tones from the phone? i don't think the phone will allow you to take any factory stuff off of it.

    Same problem, solution wont work

Having the same problem with my Alias 2.
It will not recognize files as ringtones or sounds on the microsd cards. The files are there, but it just doesnt see them.
I tried the solution proposed here...
Made the file in low quality (64kbps), cut it to 10 seconds, the file size is 80.9kb, and then attached it to an e-mail from my Yahoo! Mail address and e-mailed to my address with vzwpix.com
I recieve the message as a multimedia message, but under message info there are no attachments.
    What's up?
