The Direct Connect List (post your DC#'s here if you like)
Ok, here goes.
This thread will be strictly for posting your Direct Connect number (if you want to make it public). Keep in mind that ANYONE on this site can see this, whether they are a member or not. Do not post commentary, or anything other than your Direct Connect number and any details about yourself you'd like to post (location, age, male/female, interests, etc). I'd like to think that those that post their Direct Connect numbers here won't have any issues with being harassed, but it has happened in the recent past (which explains why there aren't more threads like this).
Alternatively, if you would like to keep your number a little more private, please visit [/url]www.boostcentral.com[/url] You will have to register for the forums, but to see the list you have to a) be a registered member of the forum, and b) have your own number posted on the list. This, in my opinion, is the better route to go--but it is ultimately up to each of you to decide on your own.
And yet another alternative is to share your DC number directly with individuals through the Private Messaging feature of this site instead of posting the number publicly.
If you are harassed by someone through Direct Connect, your best (and only) line of defenses are: ignore it, report it to Boost, report it to the police,or change your Direct Connect number. Threads "calling out" someone or posting a Direct Connect number of the person harassing you here on Hofo WILL NOT be tolerated. Again, www.boostcentral.com has a place specifically for posting this type of info if you feel like posting that info will help.
Please keep in mind that the decision to post your Direct Connect number is up to you entirely--whether here or at www.boostcentral.com. HowardForums.com and the staff here are not responsible in any way for the results of this. If I get too many pm's/threads like "so and so is harassing me, what can I do" or "can you remove my number from the sticky?", I'm simply going to delete the whole thread of DC numbers and not deal with the headache it could create.
So, if you still want to share your Direct Connect number, whether here or at www.boostcentral.com, then fire away....
