Page Plus WAP settings

Here are the WAP settings for the Page Plus phones - from an e-mail with customer service. I'd like to try this out and see what is available from their WAP portal. Can you use gmail from here?

Those Page Plus phones that are approved for WAP - the Motorola E815, V710
and V3c / LG VX5200 and VX6100 - will arrive with the correct WAP settings
already configured in the handset.

Here are the generic settings for WAP -

For the LG’s, you would access this information by first accessing the
programming (MENU “0”). You would then navigate to “WAP Setting”. You will
be checking the following -
PROXY ADDRESS SETTING – When you choose this, you will see both PRIMARY
ADDRESS and SECONDARY ADDRESS. The PRIMARY ADDRESS should be set to
ppcgw1.vzwreseller.com and the SECONDARY ADDRESS should be set to
ppcgw2.vzwreseller.com.
PROXY PORT SETTING – When you choose this, you will see PRIMARY PORT,
PRIMARY LXL PORT, SECONDARY PORT and SECONDARY LXL PORT. Both “PORTS”
should be set to 8080 and both “LXL PORTS” should be set to 443.
USER PASSWORD – This should be set to “vzw”.
HOMEPAGE – This should be set to http://homepage.

For the Motorola’s, you would access the programming using the “MENU
073887*” sequence and then navigate to “Web Sessions”.

The proper settings are as follows-
HOMEPAGE - This should be set to http://homepage.
USER ID – This should be set to “min”.
PASSWORD – This should be set to “vzw”.
GATEWAY 1 – This should be set to ppcgw1.vzwreseller.com
SERVICE TYPE – This should be set to “HTTP”.
PORT 1 – This should be set to “8080”.
E2E PORT 1 - This should be set to “8080”.
LXL PORT 1 – This should be set to “443”.
GATEWAY 2 – This should be set to ppcgw2.vzwreseller.com
SERVICE TYPE 2 – This should be set to “HTTP”.
PORT 2 – This should be set to “8080”.
E2E PORT 2 - This should be set to “8080”.
LXL PORT 2 – This should be set to “443”.

Can you enter URLs from within it? Does gmail work?

I didn't try entering URLs, I went to Yahoo search (it's a default starting page), and from there went to a web site. Yahoo email works, I didn't try Gmail.

The only thing not mentioned in these WAP settings is "user name". I used the default one that came with my phone, it's some kind of local phone number.

OK, I played with it some more. "Go to URL" doesn't work, "add to favorites" also doesn't work - it gives "error 502 bad gateway", whatever this means. Probably some other browser settings needs to be changed in order for it to work, but I don't know which ones...

Exactly the same thing happens to me on an LG VX5300. Why is it so difficult for this to work? I've spent a couple of dollars on data charges trying to get it to work, and it never does.

Because this phone was manufactured for Verizon and was never designed to be used on any other system. These settings can be changed, using a hex editor, bit pim and a usb cable, but I don't know to what. I've changed other things, like the search page.

I recently went to Verizon store to try their new phone, LG VX-7100, and it had the same problem - "go to URL" didn't work there either!

I think "go to URL" and "add to favorites" is supposed to take you to some kind of special Verizon page, that's why it doesn't work on Page Plus...

I've unlocked so many sprint phone for page plus but have never once tried to get the wap to work. Has anyone tried changing the wap settings on an Instinct or any sprint phone. I am curious to know if it works. Ima try it today myself.

I hooked up my phone using a cable, and did the SEEM edit using HexEdit. I am now able to change the settings on the phone to connect to whomever I choose. I have had an account on Zaks for almost a year, and once in a while I try to get WAP to work on my phone.

I have gotten to the point where I can access web sites using Zaks, but it's not easy. I can get Google to work, but trying to go directly to another web page using the "go to URL" selection always results in the error message "HTTP Error: 500 internal server error".

I was able to access the Southwest Airlines page to check in for my flight, but I had to change the home page (after which the phone reboots). I still got the error message, but after I cleared all cookies, files, etc., the page came up. Every time I want to browse another web page, I have to go into the WAP settings page and change the home page & reboot the phone. Then try to access the page, and then clear all cookies again.

Does the Zaks guy ever answer e-mails? There are so many questions in the forums there that have still not been answered after a year. If anyone knows if there are FAQs regarding these error messages, please share.

I could never make WAP work with my Zaks account on my LG VX-5500...

As for browsing the pages, maybe it will be easier to search for them from Google or Yahoo search page?

Has the settings changed at all? I have tried using these settings on around 10 phones so far with no luck. Current users please verify. Thanks

Has anyone tried changing the wap settings on an Instinct or any sprint phone. I am curious to know if it works.

I just ordered an Instinct off eBay. The place to start researching Sprint phone provisioning or "flashing" (as they incorrectly call it) is the Cricket and MetroPCS forums. Of course the settings are going to be different for PP, but the basic procedures should be the same.
