Next the files that are listed in mmc1/jas/content/ are .jar and .jad, not .gc and .dd files.
Also every time I upload the files into the directories ( I tried to start at 4.txt with what you have listed as an example) the phone deletes the files when i reboot it. I even tried to replace the 1.txt file with your example and it deleted it next reboot and also deleted 1.jar and 1.jad too.
btw this phone is brand new, my girlfriend picked it up from telus 2 days ago. Possibility of recent changes? Under version the phone is a S:ES.M540 CB17
Hi there, hopefully you can shed some light on where im going wrong. First the contents of my existing 1.txt files look like this
What are you trying to do exactly? If you want to install ringtones, that .txt file will not work, that's the indexing file for the telus music player.
Follow the instructions as they were posted earlier in this thread regarding what edits to make and it should work.
I don't have a telus phone, but I'm assuming the reason you have only .jas and .jad files in mmc1/jas/content/ is because the phone came pre with some java apps already installed
Hey adrenalizer , Just use this .txt and theo nly thing u have to change is .. Conf , Coshs , path ( number of the .GC file) and the name of ur ringtone ... Dont change any other things Im with telus and my provider on my txt is koodo .. Dont care about the provider/vendor and all this *****
Heum , Im with telus and i already had a 1.txt file 2 and 3 .. So my first ringtone is number 4 .. Should look like this.. Look at the ***** tahts the only thing u have to change .. NExt will be 5 , 6 , 7 ......
@ _Green77 & @ mini_telus : Thanks for posting in my absence
@ adrenalizer : It looks like you're using the wrong file. Try the one _Green77 & mini_telus posted. Those should work. Also, maybe try to purchase 1 ringtone legitimately and see where it goes. That's what I did my first time to get it started, so for you that should work also.
Why not just use http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/ to upload to your phone? I mean if you have a data plan this would definitely be the way to go. I ceased looking for .txt indexing file because this was and is the easiest way to add files to to mah phone.
Peace out. BTW I'm hopefully going to be adding Pandora soon
It is true. for people with data plan, it is not an issue to download a big file from http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/. However, for people without data plan, minimizing the size of file downloaded is one of the key to reduce the data usage, hence the cost; i.e. ~40cent per download.
@ Senikl : You tried all 100 Ports? LoL, Doubtful. Anyhow, for it to work, the Drivers must have been installed correctly. IF they have been installed correctly, there should be 2 COMs that CDMA Workshop can connect to. If you only have one that it can connect to, then it isn't installed right. Only one will work when QCM is clicked though.
I use to have over 75 Custom Ringtones on my last cell (Motorola Krzr), but the Samsung Slyde is much more complicated to get them on (in comparison), So I haven't got as many.
