    BitPim problem.

Hey guys, and thanks Lanhoj for this excellent tutorial.
    I'm having issues, though.
I downloaded a demo version of CDMA Workshop 3.4.1.
I ran the program and unlocked my cellphone, but it wouldn't work with the Qualcomm settings, so I had to use the UTStarcom DM. It worked and I unlocked it the rest of the way, as far as USDM was concerned.
After unlocking it and disconnecting, when attempting to run Bitpim, it couldn't detect or connect to my phone.
I tried Other device, setting it to COM3 (The channel I used to unlock it.), but nothing would work.

    Any help?

^^^^^ Are you sure you disconnected from the other program before you tried to connect using BitPim? I often do that mistake; the COM can't connect to 2 programs att he same time.

I can't seem to get Bitpim to see my phone (telus version) after the initial occasion.

I followed the instructions to the letter....phone unlocked fine....Bitpim saw the phone and i was able to copy the files over to their respective folders....then i rebooted the phone and there was no ringtone. I opened Bitpim again and navigated to the folders where i had copied the files and both the .txt and .gc files were absent. WTF? So i copied them a second time which seemed to go fine, rebooted the phone and now i can't get Bitpim to see the phone again despite having rebooted a number of times and despite trying different USB ports.

CDMA workshop 2.7 can see it on Com9 no problem but not Bitpim.
    Any ideas?

^^^^^ Hmmm, well since it uses the same Port, each time you want to use BitPim you must first unlock it with CDMA Workshop then disconnect from CDMA Workshop.

Ok, that did the trick. Thank you!
Also, your templates worked like a charm.
I've finally got my custom ringtones!

@ hawkeyeman : U450? Hmmm, good question. I don't know for sure, sorry. You can try and see. If it doesn't it won't have any negative effect on the phone, don't worry.

Please keep us posted if it does/doesn't.

@ BlitzCanuck : Cool, glad to hear (read) it.

    @ FrankTheTank83 :

Finding / installing the Driver is probably the most time consuming part of this. You might need to try a couple sites to get the correct Version of the Driver. Took me a few downloads the 1st time too. Make sure you Google "MCCI 4.34 WHQL v3.4".

Remember, it will most likely require a Windows Update and if done correctly, it will have installed 2 new items in your Device Manager.

That's about all I can say. Good luck.

    Hey Thanks!! this works!!

I had trouble with the text files but that is because I neglected the spaces!
Make sure there are spaces!! (Refer to first page instructions).
