Also, it seems that a jpg will work fine. I tried a .gif (not animated at all). It saved as a wall paper but it went to the default screen after restarting.

    The .jpg stays fine.

    Sounds like .gifs aren't supported.

before I commit to doing them I was just wondering if you could answer a few simple questions of me.

    1. After I get the ringtones will I have to plug my phone in ever time I want it to turn on? or once I get the ringtones is it still the same phone I had when I got it in the first time?

    2. If I do Exactly what you do in the video can I screw up my phone?

    3. Is there any tips of tricks you can give me to make sure this goes as smooth as possible?

    and last but not least

    4. Where did you get the free version of Cdma workshop everywhere I go it has some sort of ****in virus and it's gonna kill my computer if I dont get a good one?

    Please write back

    Sincerely,
    Your #1 Fan,
    Spencer

    @ bouchat19 :
1 - It remains the same phone, all that changes are the Ringtones. You will have to connect it & unlock it each time you want to add Ringtones.

2 - Nope, if you follow the instructions on the 1st page of in the video it won't screw up your phone.

3 - Follow the steps and go through all 9 pages and read how others have done it in case they've had minor problems ... I simplified them as much as I can.

4 - My copy also has that error, but it's clean. I don't know why it says it's a virus, but it's fine. I've installed it on several PC's and never had an "actual" virus, just that message.

    Cool

    Excellent guide. Thanks.
I used this guide and a combination of another one I found somewhere. It's annoying to do it the first time but then it's easy to add the ringtones you want anytime.

    I'm with Koodo as well.

Make sure you cell is powered off. Also, make sure you click "View" at the top of BitPim and select "File System".

With my cell I had to unlock it with CDMA workshop every time I wanted it to show up in BitPim, so make sure as soon as you close CDMA workshop, you open BitPim.

In Windows, open any folder. Then click, Tools (or 'Organize' in Vista/7). Then 'Folder Options'. Then click the 'View' tab. Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".

This will result in .txt and other extension appearing at the end of all your computers files. Now you can just rename the 1.txt file to 1.dd, the same way you would rename any file.

I would say it's very unlikely but you never know until you try.
