Was this meant to be sarcastic?
If you or someone else want to start a "Part 2" thread and list all the known info on the first post, that is fine. We can then close this thread.
someones had a bad day, didnt sound sarcastic one bit..
Considering the craziness of this thread will we have separate headings once it's released ala Crackberry.com's treatment of the Storm? It really helped to keep things organized in that madhouse.
If it were up to me (and it's not), I'd keep this thread going for speculation on the device, and once Verizon & Motorola go official with it, then start a new one with the info we get then. And then I'd close the speculation thread (this one).
Yeah, Teddy, but there is no equal for driving a vehicle than VZNav. Agreed?
Only used it twice, but amAze is close. And like another poster pointed out, Google Navigator is not a product. http://google-navigator.en.softonic.com/pocketpc
It is free, but only for Pocket PC and not Android.

I have all the pics saved off to my desktop, just in case. The specs we should all about have memorized by now, lol.
But I'm with you, keep this one open if possible, then start anew upon release.

Continuing with the speculation, sources have hinted at more information coming next week, anyone else trying to figure out bill's *** ** clue?
I'm going to take a stab and say *** ** could be NBC TV or maybe FOX TV; here's why.
1. Bill's post suggests a commercial featuring the STD
2. Motorola and VZW both have reasons to announce something on the national stage surrounding this phone; The Eclair flagship is Moto's 'comeback' phone, and it behooves VZW to follow it's VZW-Google partnership news with some sort of public declaration.
3. Sprint and VZW have been locking horns lately on the equipment front. Sprint pushed up its BB Tour release date in response to VZW's launch, pushed up sales of it's Hero to Oct. 9 via telesales on the back of the VZW-Google news and confirmation of a Hero release from Big Red. Samsung's big news at CTIA was the launch of its Android powered Moment for Sprint on 11/01/09; Hmm, a pretty good reason for VZW to make sure the STD is out before the end of October!
4. Sprint is a major sponsor for Heroes on NBC Mondays at 8pm. This is the natural space for Sprint to roll out new spots for a hot Android phone; it's early in the week and the show hits the right demographic, VZW has to be aware of this. I don't recall ever seeing commercials for another carrier during the show, perhaps part of Sprint's contract with NBC. It would be a smart play on VZW's part to preempt whatever Sprint has planned for Monday night by unveiling its VZW-Google news and the STD in a commercial on NBC right before 8pm. Right now FOX (House, Lie to Me) and ABC (DWTS) are crushing NBC in ratings on Mondays 8-10 pm so if VZW is running the spot I would think the best strategy is to drop its ad right before 8 on NBC and then commercials in the 8-10 slot on FOX and possibly ABC to get the most exposure. Moto has good reason to run a commercial, but you never see Moto commercials... however if this is Moto's card to play I think the same timeslots would be targeted.
Either way I guess we will see soon enough.

I think TBS is even more likely as TBS is hosting the MLB Playoffs right now. What better way to get a message out to tens of millions of people instead of the ~5 million people watching network TV shows?

That would be less than 7% of the thread...wit rules - there is a lot of very good information in this thread and it will take a bit of work to do it right.
Yes, but it is your usual "Pre-Release Thread"? Aren't there rules for when after the phone is officially released by official statements from Verizon ond Motorola, for example, then we can get on with an Official Release thread?

im pretty sure the *** ** was a date not the name of a TV station, but i could be wrong, since he was responding on a time frame, more than likely he meant watch for the commercial on OCT 1* or OCT 2* the start representing any number..
Bill if you read this, im not asking for a date (although i would love one or another hint at least ), but just so we can at least know if you were hinting at a date or a network station?
Hopefully we see something within the next two weeks.
threw rumors specifically stating it would not be at the moto dev or anywhere this past week, and said the week after is when they might announce it, im planning on seeing it sometime between mon-fri announced this comming week.
We will deff see, all i know is im sick of checking this forum and 3-4 other sites every 2 hours :P i just want to get a date and sit on it.. lol
