^^^Sure if I used my v9m anymore I guess. On to bigger and better things since that device.....lol. Only on the rare rare occasion do I activate a dumbphone anymore, and even then I prefer the Krave over the v9m just do to it having a keyboard if i need it.

unfortunately, it has already started for me. i just want this phone and i'm on here everyday scooping for more info, haha. i'm tired of my v9m, which has been replaced 3 times. i recently got a q9m (updated to q9c) and it's a good phone, but data rarely, if ever, works where i am due to alltel tower transitioning and the unbranded firmware.

i want a stylish phone i can customize to fit me and just works (data/gps). i'm restlessly waiting for the release as i'm sure you all are.

Thumbs up This phone is incredible

Hush hush everyone.. Launch is expected October 28th, 2009 for Verizon Wireless. I had a chance to play with the Motorola Sholes last night when I saw my ex-coworker for Verizon Wireless. The phone has pretty good build quality. It multi tasks excellent like the myTouch 3G but on a better network. I know that I will have to purchase this phone. I have been waiting so long for a Verizon Android unit. Also I had a chance to play with the new LG Chocolate Touch in black... Sooo shiny but picks them fingerprints up like crazy. Thumbs up for the 3 Android phones coming out 4th quarter 09. Wait until everyone sees the Samsung. *hint hint*

    Thanks darkyabyss66.

i'm happy to hear the news on the release date and more info about the device.

on another note i thought there were only going to be 2 android phones in Q4? what is the 3rd one? the samsung you're hinting at or is the sammy hint hint the Omnia II?

the only interesting ones i know about are the Sholes, Calgary, Pre, the weird Nokia and the Omnia II.

Same here. I'm almost counting the days until I can pick this phone up. As good of a phone my V9M is, I can't stand the lack of a QWERTY keyboard, or the lack of customization, and no I really shouldn't have to fiddle with SEEM edits to get the customization I want.

No one should have to, which is why moto fans like to stay with the E815. I'm almost certain this phone or the calgary will be a top seller for verizon and moto who needs it. the only unfortunate part is that customers will be forced to have a data package tacked on since they're both smart phones.

I don't mind the data package, but I really wish that the data plans (and the texting plans) were a little cheaper. Paying $80-$100 for a phone bill isn't fun, and thankfully I really don't message much.

^^^^ i don't mind them either, but for the hip "tweenies" to pick up this phone and their parents who more than likely pay the bill will probably not always want a data package. there's school and other things for them to concentrate on.

i'm still on the ACII plan and i use the 1500 messages/mo package. i barely get close, but i always go over 500 so i don't want to be forced into a NW plan just to have an unlimited texting plan when i don't do a whole lot of it anyways.

in any case T-mo sidekick plans are like $60-70 i believe and they are unlimited text/web and 1000 minutes. now that's a decent plan package i'd be happy with, but alas it isn't "the network."

Don't the BBs have a different plan from the PDA/WinMo phones? It might be possible vzw will have different pricing for Android phones.

Also call me old fashion but aren't tweenies like 9-12 or something? They don't need a freaking smart phone. Hell they should be using the basic dumbphones at that age.

they do. i think the data is $15.99/mo, but i'm not positive. they could also do that for android, however, i doubt it.

i was also referring to the ages 12-18. teens i guess i should've been a little more general.

i've always had to pay for my own bills though. even when i started driving at 16. my sister gets the lucky break of being under the rents plan. oh well.

18 I can see becasue of College by 12! What the hell are they going to do on a smart phone they cannot do on a dumbphone. Then again kids seem to be doing everything younger now. Was at work and some 8 year old was telling his Dad to shut the **** up and how he was going to cut his balls off while he slept. All in good fun I guess but what in the world was with the language.

    Kids these days

this device as intended with Eclaire is a gaming machine so why wouldn't the 12 year olds want it? the article here http://y8s.sl.pt even mentions the sholes to have a better processor than the PSP. haha.

also along with what you stated. children are doing everything younger now.
