eclair yes
oversized dare but made of metal and very heavy ,yes
battery life is good but gps will wear it down quick
battery is very tiny
it is droid 2.0
and has a app market so you can dl tons of free apps or paid apps
youtube plays in full HQ,my pc doesnt even do that
the music player plays very clear and just loud enough.
the soft qwerty is so damn accurate it isnt funny
the hard qwerty board is like the htc i would say
phone is super slim and thin but like a large dare
the load time of pages is lightning fast.
i wish i could post h/w pics or screen shots but its under wraps tight.
i wonder where the other fellows are getting there pics from? *cough*
Well, that makes me beg for more questions... by youtube, does he mean the app, or does this phone's browser FINALLY support flash?
Any hardware accelerated flash in there?
Battery life doesn't sound good... I'm wondering if I should wait for a Tegra device which would make me use the phone a lot freely...
Everything else sounds MINT Especially the HTC-like keyboard and the "super-slim" description. I'll probably root it and install a WVGA Sense UI on day 1 (or the Xperia X3 "Rachel UI" if it's any better). Stock Android is way too ugly for my liking, unless Eclair makes use of OpenGl ES 2.0 graphics, like Tegra's default UI designed by NVIDIA.
If Wnrussell doesn't show the hardware photos I'll show them tonight I got a pic of the D-pad and qwerty you guys been wanting to see!
Thanks Saul! I would love to see one of the keyboard, one of the back (showing the camera/flash), one of the side (to see the thickness and where the headphone jack/buttons are) if you don't mind or have them.
Is that like people deciding to get the Sholes when they don't even know what it looks like(if it looks different from the original pictures) or what it feels like in the hand or even if it works like its suppose to?
I think that people are basing the "excited" factor based on the fact that we DO know basically what the OS will offer. The system driving a phone is generally what a lot of people look for and this is not something that is an unknown.
Secondly, a lot of people in this thread will attest to the quality of Moto's hardware. It has been Moto's software that has been subpar.
So, throw in the fact that Moto has provided reliably good hardware in the past and a MUCH more open OS driving it....well, that is enough for a lot of folks to make a determination when the other offerings from VZW are not looking as good.

+1 for the side view. I'd like to see this "super-slim" qwerty phone....
Thanks for the reply. You posted some good stuff. Especially the very last part.

You'd think that, combined with the last six months of non crippled device releases, would be enough.
It will never end...
Starting to get ridiculous though. This whole "VZW GOING TO CRIPPLE THIS" BS.

I am really glad they are doing this to. The Kraves body build was such a let down (especially coming for a v9m).
I'm glad that Moto is making a the Tao like they did the v9m.
THOUGH will this effect the price of the phone like it did the v9m? Where the better the materials the higher in price the phone was?
