fyi folks you can not have a smartphone on a Connect plan. you have no choice but to downgrade the plan. Reason being unlimited data on Connect plans is for dumbphones only as smartphone need there own $30/month data plan which is mandatory for any device made after Nov 2008.
Secondly tethering is not covered in the $30 a month fee if I'm not mistaken. You need at min the $45/mon smartphone data plan to tether unless they changed policy again lately.
Very, very cool, this is new information I haven't seen before. I love the flash on my Storm, very bright and very useful (and not just for pictures). This phone seems to have it all, I can hardly wait.
im cunfused also. mine is running droid 2.0 eclair.could they have made it also with 1.6 earlier?
that sure looks like the tao to me too. but in the top of it mine doesnt say "3g"
something fishy here people.
i hear someone has a snap shot of the tao with it showing which s/w it is........
ill ask them if either 1 of them will post there unit.i cant post mine as we know.
also it does has the 3.5mm jack on it.
Please, say more about 2.0 Eclair... Is Android still ugly or is it noticably better? Does the user interface use impressive OpenGL ES 2.0 driven effects? Cupcake looked exactly like 1.0, and 1.6 looks almost exactly like 1.6.... so everyone is expecting Eclair to be the "pretty" Android.
heck you'll be better off pre-ordering it once it is announced as I'm sure they will have it so we can. Then just have it shipped to your house so you don't have to waste the time at a store.
damn i didnt know you can pre order.. thats even better.. i honestly have not given a rats *** about cell phone tech until this phone came out had the same old 50 dollar flip phone for years.. everyone has the iphone and i dont like att, im just glad ill be one of the first to get a phone like this..
I know it is only speculation - but any guess what the price would be if you are NOT eligible for NE2? I just got a Storm in March, I would have returned it within my 30 day window if they had another phone I was interested in. I just had to get out of ATT because the network is crap. I needed cell service at my house, and Big Red wins hands down. I had to lose the iPhone, which I really miss, but the Tao could be the phone I am looking for.
So any guesses? I am more than happy to subscribe for another 2 years - does this make any difference in the price.
i'll take a guess. my guess is that it'll be upwards of 4-500 if not more without a ne2..and yes it always makes a big difference. the phone will probably be 200-250 with a 2-year.

So 200-250 with a NEW 2-year, right? I assume that NE2 is literally new every 2 years, right, so I am 18 months from the cheaper pricing?
EDIT: And are all the Storm owners out there that are clamoring for this phone going to be paying that price, since it was launched in November? I don't suppose we can complain that the surepress keyboard is crap and sweet talk someone into letting us upgrade for cheap?
ONE MORE EDIT: If you pay the full price, do you still need a contract, or can you go month to month?
