Hey whats up guys! I havent been here in a while lol . I can not wait for this phone! My only problem will be trying to not use my BB for work. This phone looks like its gonna be a killer!
Wow this phone looks promising. Verizon is offering plenty of choices this Christmas with the touch pro 2, imagio, omina 2, storm 2, htc android (maybe) and tao. But out of those I'm leaning towards the Tao.
I know that the Tao will be a Google experience model. Do most prefer this or a non google experience phone like the Hero for example where HTC added the sense UI?

Is "google experience" anything significant, or mainly just a way for google to make their brand visible?

Boy after playing catch up this morning on this thread I sure hope the device looks better in person then that last pic posted by kbman. It looks like a rectangle block with no shape/look to it being squared off like that. Personally I think the original rendered pic looks way better with the angled/beveled silver edge to give it a look at least. However without seeing as side view or a view with it open yet it is to hard to say so I'll hold final judgement for now.
And what is with the little chin hinge thing that stick out below the face of the screen by the keys (another thing that doesn't look to good). My guess is that is where the mouth pc ( ie mic) is but that is kinda silly and doens't look very good having the lower half of the phone longer then the face of it. I can just see that getting damaged way to easily if the device were dropped on accident. Be that as it all may I sure hope I'm seeing this wrong that is for sure because if I'm not I'll be waiting for something else as I don't like it at first glance.

yea fully open where content can not be blocked per the agreement and terms from Google.
Actually the google experience means that the manufacturer cannot mod it with HTC Sense UI for instance, or MotoBlur, or SE Rachel UI...etc. But it also means that you get google's apps right out of the box.
What do you mean getting google apps right out of the box. Even on a non google experience phone, they have access to the google apps, right?

In a non-google experience device, the manufacturer puts google apps on the phone according to "business deals" with google, according to El Google's statement.
Regardless, the best course of action is ALWAYS: Getting good hardware, rooting it and installing whatever version of Android you want, with whatever apps, and whichever UI you want.
