No, word as of last week is early Dec now. Android 2.0 is not done on Googles end which is one of the reason for the push back from what I was told.Originally Posted by codyboring

i'm assuming you would not have to change your plan and accept the 29.99 data plan because of VZW's change in policy that any smart phone (winmo, BB, linux) added to their line up after a certain date in 2007 (i believe), i can't remember the exact date, must be accompanied with with a data plan.

You guys would need to change. It's not so much a matter of being required to change your plan with an upgrade, it would need to change if you ever try to activate. This phone will absolutely require a NW plan; even the LG vx8360 requires a NW to activate. Being purchased at full-retail won't matter at all. I would also bet we're going to be looking at the $30-data plan. This is a smartphone, 3rd party apps, no reason to think it would be treated any differently than the other advanced devices.
Has there been any info regarding the build quality?
Hi-Keeba!!!
Saw a relative today who works for Moto (has been working on several other phones). He stated this phone has been pushed back in production.
i know that this thread is not about the CLIQ, but what the people who have tested it and played with it have been saying that it has quite a good build quality. the white one seems toyish, but they have a decent weight and feels good in the hands. so my guess would be that they will be just as good if not better than the CLIQ. although, moto has always had great build quality. hahaOriginally Posted by servo086
and thanks for the information regarding the upgrade to this phone servo.

Well one of the guys off that article said the official launch name was "Tao" and it is on tract for a mid October launch. Guess we'll have to wait and see though.
the article said they were still firmly in "realm of rumors." i don't want it to be december, but i highly doubt the oct. release now. let's negotiate and say mid november.Originally Posted by codyboring

it also says thanksgiving release
Yeah the November release doesn't surprise me. It seems like every hightly anticipated phone is coming out in October, (with the exception of the TP2) so I was wondering what are they going to release for the Holidays? Nothing? The only phone I know of that didn't have a October release was the Omnia II. I doubt they will just release one smartphone for the Holidays.
Ok, Mid November sounds good ..Originally Posted by Quickster357

I just got the TP2..Can't stand windows mobile..fixing to switch back the Curve..I just want a good OS. I wont be Happy until I get Android or WebOS
^^^ yeah i'm getting tired of the archaic winmo UI and i just got the q9m at the start of summer. i think i will get the Storm 2 if i can't wait any longer and sell it, but i might just reactivate my v9m and use that until the Sholes drops as it will be cheaper not to have the data plan for the few months.
the palm pre isn't gonna release until after the holidays. so you'd be waiting longer than the sholes if you wanted webOS. lol
Ditto. I was going to order it on Friday but figured I'd wait a month to see what happens.Originally Posted by codyboring
