I'm really thinking about waiting for the Sholes and switching to Verizon, but I'm kind of wondering whats everyone thinks the probability that the Sholes will be rootable is?

I know VZW has a reputation for locking down their phones so I thought I'd ask.

    No one knows.

The current rumor is that it will have a "true google experience" UI. Meaning both Moto and vzw have agreed to pretty much leave the devices UI untouched. Meaning no crippled.

As far as rebooting it no one knows.

he means "rooting" it. as in having root access to the handset. this way you are able to mess with anything in the linux core by adding and removing whatever you like. you can damage your phone seriously by doing so, but nothing that could be fixed with a flash. although, flashing still will be the most dangerous thing you could do, which could brick it.

I hope it is better than the 5MP camera on the Casio Exilim.

Is Motorola Getting Cranky at Verizon Over Android?

Jha's agreement with Verizon - assuming there is one - has gagged him; he can't talk about his Verizon deal. So he's left saying his company is "fairly hopeful we will begin to engage with all the U.S. operators." What he's probably thinking, meanwhile, is, "where the heck is our Verizon phone?"

Personally not that impressed with the CLIQ at all. I am "hoping" for a better experience come Sholes.

The only thing good about the Moto Sholes if true is that it will be a beast of a gaming device.

Yeah what a beast of a device for a bunch of mobile games.

IMO the only thing blur has going for it is the social networking aspect of its UI. Something that you can easily get with a trip to the app store. Which will more than likely be free to download.

Are you that guy from crackberry who's pimping out the Storm 2? Seriously if you are, you can keep that POS. I don't care how good the typing on it is... it's still putting lipstick on a pig and Rim's OS is one giant one at that.
