Agreed. I think it's more important for VZW to get STD out before Sprint releases both the Hero and Moment.

I agree but I don't think it's going to happen. Best Buy already has the Hero on their site. It's $599.99, I think that's without a contract.

Anyway, I made a Verizon-Android wallpaper, no it's not the best but I'll post it on here anyway if anyone's interested.

That's ridiculous. Blackberry and Android target two completely different types of people. They're barely in competition with each other. On top of that, Verizon wants them both to sell. They're not going to sacrifice tens of thousands of sales to appease their relationship with Blackberry, and if anyone believe that, they are very naive to believe so. Verizon cares only about the almighty dollar and they will pimp whatever phones give them the highest profit in the end, relationship with Blackberry be damned.

Believe me, if walking all over Blackberry and pimping Android turns them a higher profit in the long run, they will do it without a moment's hesitation.

What were the release dates of the Env Touch and env3? Weren't they almost simultaneous?

And also, the Verizon employees were so clueless about my mention of the Sholes, they made me show them a picture of the phone and this site!

according to a verizon manager i called the other day they dont usually get them til the day before release or the thursday before, in this case the 30th is friday so it wont make a difference.

I had coffee with a friend of mine who works for VZW.. now granted he/she told me that his/her dept has not gotten any info on the STD yet, but according to him/her with what was said at the google/vzw web thing last week. If they say a couple of weeks it will be out before the end of the month... she also didn't seem to think the release of the storm 2 and the std would have any bearing on one another... There for.. I'm sticking to 10/30 atleast for online and telesales...maybe a couple weeks later for in store.

If it means that the STD will be released this month that that is great news. An October release date is much better than a December one.

dont think there's any STD / Storm 2 release date conflict because....

even though all the news sites are saying Storm 2 will release October 21 or 25 for Verizon, many of the blackberry insiders are laughing those reports off and saying the Storm 2 will be released in October for Vodafone only at best. In the U.S. the Storm 2 will release in November. They are laughing it off the same way bill23 laughs at the Dec. 1 date for STD and says it'll be here sooner. I consider those insiders who said this to be as reliable as bill23 for reliable info (if thats even possible, lol).

So the reliable STD folks hint that STD will release by end of month. BB folks say S2 in November for U.S. No conflict, it all lines up pretty well from where I'm sitting. Verizon's got this planned out just fine. I'll probably get both phones just because I would. lol...but the STD specs are pretty superior and impressive.
