Planning on returning it regardless, just demoing it

It's a solid phone and you'll love it. You may wanna throw Opera Mini on it for faster browsing and there are a TON of apps to customize that bad boy any way you want...
Thanks! Can't wait to check it out.

    Nice review.

Still kinda sounds like a beta phone. I'm on a one week break between my classes next week so if I get a chance I'll stop by the store in Chi-Town...

    Hello,

I' wondering if somebody would be able to answer my question; I was thinking of buying an E72 but due to the late availability and initial price I thought I might as well get an E71 since its a very attractive price. However, if I buy it from these forums/ ebay what happens to the warranty - meaning will nokia just look at the IMEI number or do I need an original receipt as well?

    Oh REAAALLLY????

Samsung Propel Pro. pretty much same specs and with WM and BETTER email (personal/corporate sync options).
Actually Samsung has 3 different models in various regions to compete.
RIM Onyx 9700 Bold oh yeah PURE competition.
RIM 8530. Laugh all you want but that HVGA resolution speaks numbers bub.

And a few more coming late this year.

Along with this and an 8mth delayed launch after announcement the E55, its like Nokia WANTS to loose sales, money, marketshare, and userbase in S60.

Lol - there's plenty of competition. 8900/Bold/Onyx/Palm Pixi etc etc

Either way, with the 2.4" I'm going to pass this device.

Nothing too impressed anyway. Camera is underpowered too.

What are you talking about?! Nokia doesn't have to worry about losing sales, marketshare, userbase by not releasing updated devices, when Ovi services are such a hit! Ovi Store, Ovi Maps, Ovi Messaging!! FTW

Agreed. I am shockingly surprised that Nokia didn't get the message of big screen from the success of iPhone and Bold. May be they don't care!

But, I will get one E72. I am spoiled by S60. I am really missing E61i. They should consider an upgrade of E61i.

Samsung Propel Pro - Why would I want to pay twice as much for a data plan just and have a bulky crippled AT&T phone?

You really think Nokia is worried about losing market share to Samsung? Really? Nokia beats them down in global market share. I'm not bashing Samsung, they make good products, but I guarantee you that Nokia will not have trouble getting any sleep tonite...

Palm Pixi - IMO No CDMA phone will ever be a "true contender".

8900 - I have owned this (along with the 8320) and I've lost count how many times that phone froze, rebooted, or me having to pull the battery out.

ONYX will be a phone that I will seriously look at and entertain buying if BB finally gets their act together and fixes their bugs. (and it would have to run extremely smooth for me to pay dbl a month for data)

Plus where I live, I have bad luck with BBs (at least with the 8320/8900) with dropped calls and reception. (which kinda sucks because their messaging would make my life a little easier for work)

By all means I am not a "Nokia Fanboy" - I AM a diehard "Motorola Fanboy" (on the weekends or long road-trips I'm using my V9x a lot) because their reception is the best overall that I have ever used in a cell phone, but Motorola has fallen so far off the map and there isn't any current smartphone from them that I could use for work.

Onyx vs E72 is the Bold vs E71 all over again... Nokia could care less about NA sales considering all the loyal fans across the pond waiting for the E72... at least that's the way it seems. I guess they know they can't compete with BB in NA so that's why they aren't inna rush. Either that or they really don't give a ****. Plus Palm = NA too...

Palm really needs to get their WebOS out to all carriers and all markets if they are every going to get anywhere in market saturation. They need to stop with this exclusive crap and get the ball rolling...because Android sure is in comparison.

I'd pop over to a WebOS device in a heart beat if they simply released a GSM-esque device, be it the Pre or the Pixi. I'd use either one of those.

Man you said it! The pre is not selling as well as expected so if Palm wants the cash they NEED to make the Pixi GSM/HSPA ready ASAP!

its got the specs, we just need developers to make the apps ready. I don't know HTML; lame I know - but I'd make a few apps if I could.

to be honest most iphone app developers should make theirs ready for WebOS and FAST as there is LOTS of potential.

Symbian^3/^4 is gonna take a while longer still.
