Can I force roam to Sprint?

I live in zip 43512 and south of town alltel/verizon gets a weak signal indoors. However there is a Sprint tower very close buy, friends that have Sprint get solid signal indoors. Can I force my phone to use the sprint tower? If so how would I go about doing that?

    Thanks for any help.

Alltel has a roaming agreement with sprint. As of late, they have been removing the SIDs off of the PRLs but not all. You could also change your home SID on your blackberry, put it in home only and it will stay on that SID. If you would like to know more info about programming the curve a short google search will help. If you need help with SIDs, www.mountainwireless.com should help.

I just tried that on my pearl. No dice. Even in home only, it was still pulling the native, alltel SID, 544 in my area. I had my pearl's home SID set to 4160, the Verizon SID.

I'll check on the pearl tonight and double check the curve and the storm. I use to force the curve to SID 4164 as they only had one Alltel tower here until a few months ago when they added a second. Also, both my phones and the storm would pull EV from the sprint towers here as Alltel still hasn't moved up from 1X.

Edit: Hmmm....just checked on the storm, giving me the same problem. I'll take a look at the PRL's and see what's different for your area and mine.

If you have an LG phone you can by hacking into the phones menu. I did this while I was in Atlanta.

I think with the new PRL release, all networks show up as home to the pearl, since the roaming triangles have been nearly eradicated.

You would either have to edit the prl or load a Sprint prl and as Hipkik said be careful roaming on Sprint all the time as they could terminate your service.

mountainwireless is slow. 40050 is the current, non-divested PRL. you can see it on www.the-answerman.com

I do this in with my Glimmer.

I use the second NAM and set it up for a US Cellular SID in home only.
I tired to do the same thing on a blackberry pearl and could never get it to switch to NAM2 from NAM1, ended up taking it back sadly.

I have a V9m. I am in Charlotte, NC and would like to force my phone to roam on Sprint. Sprint's SID is 4376. My home SID is 114. What can I do to make the phone roam on Sprint?
