SMS Org.D Error

I have an HTC PPC6800.

A while back, don't really know when (I *think* I've successfully used threaded sms/mms), I started receiving this error when trying to send a text:

Error Class: Temporary
Cause Code: SMS Org.D.

When people send me texts, I don't get them.

I have ONLY used alltel ROMs.
I installed new ROMs almost as soon as they came out.
I'm on Alltel's 6.1 ROM.
I almost never text.
Data works just fine--I get my emails and can use pocket IE etc.
I googled this error and found nothing of use. "network problems" and "not enough signal" were common excuses.
I just (4 days ago) performed a hard reset. Reinstalled my programs:
garmin mobile
pocket informant
batti (battery monitor)
mymobile
coreplayer
ti calculator and TI89 rom
elecont weather

That's all I can really think of. Guess I should have tried a text right after the reset, but I didn't think of it. Like I say, texting isn't my thing, but it would be nice to GET them when someone sends them.

are you sure texting has not been somehow blocked on your line?

No.
I don't have a texting plan, but that doesn't (or has never in the past) meant that I couldn't text.

Can I check online, or do I need to call?

Sure 'nuf, disabled for some reason.
Wish I had a clue how/why.
Wish I'd have tried that before wasting the server space here.
