I just wanted to clarify everything in the past few pages.....Please correct me if I'm wrong, this is for my benifit too.![]()
1. You have to be on an America's Choice plan of 49 or higher.
2. You can use it to connect to the internet via laptop/computer/pda, all you need is the cable and the dialer software.
3. This will only take out of your airtime minutes.
4. If you have unlimited night and weekend minutes it is absolutely free.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use on a local digital choice plan, or does it HAVE to be on AC.
Thanks for clarifying.
I am on a local CA plan and I had it added. Works fine on my laptop. Uses up my minutes.
Yes, you must be on AC, but you can be on any AC plan. I'm on the $35/mo plan and everything's working fine.Originally posted by suertetres

For those of you have used the Verizon Dialer, what are your connection speeds? And, does the dialer create a connection for both EN and QNC?
Thanks.

Minor correctlon: I have a $49.99 Local plan, and they cheerfully added that promo onto my package.
Not that I was able to get it work on the laptop, but it's there. I think it's more a function of WinMe being a pain, than EN ----the handshake with EN is successfull, but can't seem to get data into the browser.
Any advice you could give me would be appreciated:
- *I have ditched the VZW dialer because it caused too many BSODs.
*I created a new dial up short cut using the proper logon, pw and #777.
*I input the proper init script described on another thread.
*EN handshake appears successful because dialer minimizes to task bar.
*Using vx10 drivers for cable connected to vx4400 ---but laptop seems to "see" cell phone just fine.
Is there anything I'm missing? Like I stated the laptop appears to make a successfull handshake with EN, then minimizes like it should. But ultimately, IE won't load data.
Perhaps I should use another driver? Anyone have luck getting this to work on an WinMe laptop?
Would getting the "VZW Mobile Office" be a good idea?
It's been suggested that I run ipconfig tonight, and I will, to see if the laptop is really on EN.
Your collective wisedom would be appreciated.

Do you have an estimated date on this? (the Web/Gin switchover).

I haven't used the Verizon Dialer but the speeds using Manual Dial-Up is faster than the Mobile Office Kit. I get about 60Kbps for the manual and 45Kbps for the Office Kit. The manual configuration seems to work fine so I won't install the dialer. My OS is XP Pro.Originally posted by SMR

Silly question here -
I have VZW, my husband has T-Mo with a bluetooth (BT) phone.
Afte I call VZW to add this to my account, can I use his BT phone to access the web via Palm with BT? Or, Do I need to use my VZW phone?
Thanks!!
My speeds w/the Verizon Dialer can be found on the first page of this thread: Test your Express NET Speeds!!Originally posted by SMR

Using the dialer gave me a significant improvement over my manual setup.
umm. it's Verizon Express Net, not t-mobile, so you must use your vzw handset.
Sorry, just saw the second part of your question and couldn't edit my last post anymore. Yes, the Verizon Dialer creates a connection for both EN and QNC. It's very easy to switch between the two if you choose to do so.Originally posted by SMR
