Is it possible to activate Sprint's LG Lotus LX600 on Page Plus?
Is it possible to activate Sprint's LG Lotus LX600 on Page Plus? Did anybody ever did it? Will it work the same way as on Sprint, and if no, what features will be disabled? I'm mostly interested in Internet and text messaging, GPS will also be nice. Thanks.
Voice and Text should work.
You might be able to get Internet and MMS if you can figure out how to hack the phone (I highly doubt your average person can accomplish).
You will more than likely have the roamin indicator active, you need to see the latest entry in the Unofficial Page Plus sticky to fix that.
What about US Cellular phones? Can they be activated with Page Plus?
its the same situation as sprint phones.
The hardware is compatible with Pageplus/verizon but you would have to program it yourself because only Verizon phones can do over-the-air PP programming out of the box.
You can for sure get voice and text with a CDMA Lotus that is not stamped Verizon with enough effort but data is harder and if someone has done it they haven't put out a guide or directions in here.
I haven't used a Lotus so I don't know how it gathers GPS data. If its real GPS and sprint/USCell hasn't crippled it somehow then it should work just like any other GPS device. If it uses AGPS then no, it won't work.
Verizon uses some proprietary encryption with the AGPS system on their network. Only VZ Navigator can use that data and that isn't open to Pageplus users since we can't be billed for it on a verizon account.
If the Metro (or Cricket) guys can't crack it for data, I wouldn't even bother trying.
John:
What is your advice -- Can LG Lotus work on pageplus cellular for vice and text only --- no MMS and no internet
If yes can you point to a guide by which one can enable a clean ESN Lotus for pageplus cellular voice and text

I've read that some users have gotten VZ Navigator to work. I know it has worked for me on my LG EnV touch!
I just activated a Lotus 610 touch on page plus, with CDMA Workshop, I just changed the PRL, and the home SID, just like the other Sprint phones, and it worked right away
