I'm using a new Samsung S7350 and was wondering if there is any way via USB to transfer files onto it other than using PC Studio? The problem I'm having with PC Studio file transfers is that they are incredibly slow. Ie. it takes 35 minutes to transfer a 22 minute (175mb) XviD video. It almost feels like USB 1.0 speeds. The fact that it's taking longer to transfer the file than to watch it is kind of defeating the purpose.
If I'm not using PC Studio, when I connect it to Windows XP or OS X neither operating system can recognize the mobile phone. If I take the Samsung formatted microSD card out of the phone and put in a card reader, Windows XP and OS X still can't recognize the format and both ask if I want to initialize the microSD card.
Is there any way I can speed up PC Studio file transfers or drag and drop files onto the microSD card in an operating system environment? (I can browse and drag & drop files over a bluetooth connection but I'm looking for a speedy USB solution as I want to transfer large files)
You need to wait 4-5 minutes after connecting the mobile to the computer before the computer will actually recognize it as a mass storage device. Before I was always giving up and disconnecting the mobile after it failed to mount after 1 or 2 minutes so it turns out I wasn't waiting long enough.
Interesting how when using Samsung PC Studio to transfer a 175mb XviD it took 35 minutes, but only 2-3 minutes when dragging and dropping the same file onto the mobile mounted as a mass storage device in Windows XP.
