Stopped by a Comcast service office on my way home looking for some info on High-Speed 2Go.

They quoted me as I have only HD cable TV, no broadband traditional land line service with them:

$229 - 4G/3G Data Card
$49 - Activation Fee

Unlimited 4G + 5GB of 3G = $50/mo. 1yr contract.

All of the above = $229+$49+ $50 X 24 months= $61.58/mo over the 2yrs.

That is discounted to $50 modem cost and free activation on a 1yr contract if you already are a high speed internet customer.

I just received a flyer in the mail today for Comcast High Speed @ Home w/wireless router and High-Speed 2Go 4G service for $49.99 includes a FREE 4G modem.

This is $5 more than Clear's identical package of 6Mbps home connection. Comcast's home connection being up to 12Mbps w/wireless router.

I have not seen the details to Clear's 4G/3G official data plan yet.

Thus far the best deal on the U300 4G/3G is the discounted Sprint plan from $80 to $60/mo.

Or the Comcast bundle of Home High-Speed internet and 4G/3G for a total of $84.47/mo including a home modem lease fee($3/mo).

I'm not yet 100% sure which I'll purchase. I just have the Clear $50/mo unlimited 4G month to month service, the data card cost me $50 back in January.

I am constantly getting over 2mb tethered to my dumbphone on Verizon. For some reason, I am not getting Alltel EVDO roaming at my house anymore

Man i think this is an all-time high for my att phone while tethering... It spiked to 3.1M but stabalized at 2.72M

I'm in ATL, on Clear, $40 no contract 6MB plan- using Motorola CPE150.

-wimax RSSI -68dbM
-wimax CNIR 20db

Getting 16-18MB down almost consistently
Uplink is right at 728K

Very pleased, dumped at&t DSL "extreme" which never got the rated 3MB downstream and I was paying close to $72 a month for a basic POTS line and DSL.

no turning back, DSL is so "2003"

well when Wimax gets here, if it ever does, and its available thru a cell phone and i can tether it and get a consistent 6M+ , then ill drop my 6M dsl....

With numbers like this I still wonder why T-Mobile didn't just skip over 3G and start on 4G right away, wouldn't that make some sense? They barely have a 3G network compared to AT&T/Sprint/Verizon... they are rolling out 4G already, and T-Mobile is still *thinking* about rolling out 3G nationwide.

From what I understand LTE is just now getting standardized. Back when they made the decision to do 3G it was probably better to at least say you have a 3G network than to be the only carrier without it.

That being said...I am highly impressed with Wimax and the speed in which it has already upgraded from 4mbps to 6mbps and to now 10mbps. For those cities who have not received it yet...by the time you do there is no telling what the peak speeds will be at.
