Granted im NOT running 4G but i do have a sprint phone (backup) but Here is what i get out of my Tilt cell phone from att from ONE of the TWO HSDPA towers that i know of here locally so far that i have found.... hehe

    http://www.speedtest.net/result/522897615.png
    http://www.speedtest.net/result/522899597.png

and thru speakeasy: about 1 minute after the above
    Last Result:
Download Speed: 2283 kbps (285.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 348 kbps (43.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

if i could only get those consistent speeds at my house.... F* me i would be one happy sob... that would save me $25 per month in home dsl. But unfortunately my phone only see's 1-2 bars of signal AT BEST in my home but who really knows if that is really affecting my speeds... Here now im at 3-4 bars out of 5.

But the MOST that i have seen from this phone is 2.56M dn and 455 up...

Well I spoke again to various Sprint "technical" support reps, none of whom I could reach that knew anything about 4G.

I was nearing the end of the 30 day trial with Sprint so I elected to cancel.

The performance of the U300 is not up to par with the simple cheap Motorola dongle offered by Clear.

Not only that Comcast also offers their version of the Frankiln U300 4G/3G nationwide dongle. I think at least there would some technical support, also Clear appears to be offering a 4G/3G dongle as well very soon.

It is very surprising and disappointing that there isn't anyone with any kind of technical assistance training/and or skills regarding the Sprint 4G network.

I may go this route: HighSpeed2Go

    Comcast

    Unlimited - Nationwide 4G
    5GB - Nationwide 3G
Up to 12Mbps - Home Broadband
    -------------------------
    $69.99/mo

    1 year deal

Well a Sprint rep got back to me who has some WiMAX knowledge. In a nutshell since Sprint has not yet officially launched Portland, OR. the network is still being "optimized". I'm assuming that's only referring to Sprint devices not Clear or Comcast. Anyway, possible August launch time for Portland.

I guess in a month I will see who offers the best 4G/3G data card plan.
