Soft Reset: Alt, right shift & Delete

To type a letter {vanity number} in a phone number field, press and hold the Alt key. Spell the number you wanna dial.

Holding "ALT" & pressing "BN" "M" "L" "L" will toggle the signal strength display between a numerical display & a 5 bar indicator.

    1 Bar: -102 to -120 dBM
    2 Bars: -93 to -101 dBM
    3 Bars: -87 to -92 dBM
    4 Bars: -78 to -86 dBM
    5 Bars: -40 to -77 dBM

A numerical display of 1 milliwatt {if you should chose} gives a more accurate level of signal strength in decibels. In numerical form the display will always be a negative number because signal strength will always be under a full milliwatt.

My most recent discovery, the other day I was texting my address, the address came up in a link form. Much like when you put in a phone number or a PIN. After clicking the link it opened bb maps to my address, I know for a fact that my last 8220 never did this.

Hopefully Heavy Fluid would be kind enough to post all the shortcut tips in the first post so they'd be easier to find and pick out.

To wipe all contacts: go into contacts, bb key, options, type RSET
This will also force a sync if you use wireless sync.

WOW. This is a good one to know. I had issues with BIS and Google Sync, and had all of my contacts on my device multiple times, some of them were there 44 times. This will help in the future if that ever happens again.

Name: Address Book Data Structure Rebuild.
Process: In the Address Book, hold "Alt" & press "R", "B", "L", "D".
Purpose: Forces a data structure re-build in the Address Book.
    - usually done before the above note, and if no change then proceed with above (as any contacts not on the server in the above step may be lost).

Prom1 - so that's to force a re-sync of your address book, with the server overriding anything on your device? Is there a similar feature to force a sync of your mailbox/folders (other than the 'Reconcile Now' menu option? I created a couple of sub-folders the other day and moved some messages from my inbox into them. Problem is that the sub-folders took a couple days to show up on my device, and the messages never moved until I moved them myself from the device.
