[sigh] big words huh? if you think so, that's s-a-d.
yes, i did take note of your 1992 'narrow' definition of what a smartphone was over a decade ago, that *one* person sarcastically replied (oops, I'm sorry... you didn't know) to and everyone else politely ignored, likely due to how silly it sounds just validates that you are sorta technologically challenged... but you know that
But let's just assume for the sake of argument, that only a PDA is a smartphone:
: a small hand-held device equipped with a microprocessor that is used especially for storing and organizing personal information (as addresses and schedules) http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/PDA
Note the last entry on the 'Popular Consumer PDA list' Ding, ding, ding, ding! iPhone
Double D'oh!
As you see iPhone easily fits into the criteria (even surpassing a smarthphone definition in some respects) and someone has even thoughtfully inc. an iPhone picture, doh within the defition! Another here has argued it passes the smartphon paradigm and approaches webphone status.
Push, Exchange Support, IMAP, Encryption, Web, etc.
At this point, I take no blame for your diaper being soiled. You should have just left it as it was...

'Proof in the pudding' as they say. Your logic is simply flawed. I might be too harsh. How old are you... 12? ESL? I know you're trying to save face because you practically live in this forum, but c'mon... ignoring the brunt of what I said, while agreeing with me on everything else and/or creating different rants (mainly due to your misunderstandings in the 1st place) as you go along isn't helping your cause.
A, B, Select, R, L, X, Y, Start--- unlimited health and armor!
I thought I wasn't supposed to expect a followup? If you must know I got that definition from my almighty Mac. Try it on your laptop (erm, wait, your macbook).
I'm still going to reply here just for moar laffs:
This was the first mass produced GSM phone (made in 1992- the year my smartphone definition was from):
Doesn't look like a smartphone to me but w/e- you think it is since it has a screen and a phonebook. Phonebook=PDA=Smartphone!
iPhone business features?
Push- broken on my iphone and some other people based on feedback on forums. If it works on other phones, great!
Exchange- It's pretty basic compared to BBs but okay.
IMAP- Keitais have this and so does my old phone (a SE- wait- Sony Ericsson K810i).
Encryption- hardware based encryption on the 3GS sucks as much as the software based encryption on the 3G and other devices- just read around
Web- Most devices can do this but the iphone's browser, I agree, is the best for a mobile device.
I don't need to save face on the internet. But most here know that you're Death-Note ver. 2- more coherent and isn't addicted to the SH1810C. But you're addicted to your smartphone. Just as bad
