Yep, and what will most likely make me switch to T-Mobile, and possibly an unlocked 2G iPhone. I had more minutes on VM as I could earn 75 extra a month, but now that that;s gone, $0.20 is too expensive for calls and txts, compared to T-Mobiles $0.15 voice and 5/10c txt rates.
wow... i just went down to a bunch of stores and was looking at displays for phones... i was tempted to get a VM one but now... not so sure its worth it! i really don't wanna do a 2 yr contract with verizon which is what i was originally gonna do!! im so lost lol too many choices!
I am going to Alltel's PrePaid very likely.. seems like VM is losing a lot of buisness over this!
The bonus minutes are useless and methinks that they got rid of the program because it was equally as useless. The ads they showed on sugamama were outdated.... the program itself was unreliable.
VM is still a great deal... you just have to look at your previous cell phone bills.
Knowing an general estimate of how much you use... can help you identify whether VM or any other provider will be best for you.
Unless someone is looking for Unlimited... minute by minute, VM is overall a great bargain... people just expect the works and still expect a substantial saving.
When I did the minute-by-minute plan, I hella relied on sugar mama, I wish there were more options and more companies with cheap plans and good phones.
I figure most marketing departments find their ad dollars are better spent elsewhere, and it's not really worth it for VM to run around finding people to sponsor giving away free cell phone minutes.
Anyway, guess it's time to watch the stored minutes wind down and start scouting other services for the long run.
I will be gosh darn peeved if all my stored Sugar Mama minutes vanish with the program though. They better not even think of pulling that.

If they do that..I'll be finding me another prepaid provider.
At&t messaging plan is exactly the same as virgin, and calls are .25 instead of .20...so the extra nickel is well worth it to use a much higher end phone and at 2.50 for ring tones i left virgin, now I make my own. I really liked the x-tc BUT when I asked about moving my ringtones from the wildcard to the x-tc, they said "OH we don't do that", so I was supposed to buy them all over again
So i gave the x-tc away, bought a samsung eternity and an htc fuze on ebay, I switch back and forth, depending on what I am doing (eternity doesn't have wifi)
Boy listen to me i'm spoiled now LOL
Got a bit addicted, been trading phones here on hofo, traded a unlocked G1 for the fuze
Beware unlocked g1's on att, the data connection charges can run up fast
Doing away with sugarmama is gonna hurt them, don't you think so?? The free minutes is one thing I miss
This is just about the straw that broke the camels prepaid back for me.. I don't use alot of talk minutes but, Sugar Mama was definitely a program that provided me with the few talk free minutes I needed each month while saving some money for other VM extras. I'm so very disappointed to see Sugar Mama end.. Unless VM rolls out a mid tier service like StraightTalk's 1000min/1000txt for $30 a month I'm holding off buying any new VM phones & considering dropping VM as my prepaid provider. Thanks for ruining a great program Virgin Mobile! What's next..a daily service usage surcharge fee??
