I have tried several IM apps, they all use battery quickly.
Is there a version that works with this rom and drain little battery?
And use data to send/receiver rather SMS.
thanks.

Ah, makes sense then. I would rather a data based IM app anyway! Thanks for the info.

I've used Meebo and eBuddy. I'm torn on which I like more, but in truth neither are satisfactory for me. I'm going to start developing my own IM (only WLM 'cause that's all I use) app in the next couple weeks.
Anyway, I find they have about the same battery usage, but eBuddy seems to use less data.

Question about SPL file.
This was my original...
HBOOT-1.33.0009 (SAPP50000) : Sapphire PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H : CPLD-12 (Rogers)
I have updated to...
Engineering SPL HBOOT-1.33.2005 Signed update.zip
My 3G data connection doesn't seem to be as stable/fast/good as it should be?
Is there any radio issue/difference going from original Rogers to 2005?
I think I am going to go back to...
SHIPMENT SPL HBOOT-1.33.0009H Signed update.zip
and see if it makes any different.
By the way, can I use this SPL with HoFo ROM?
Thanks.
I've never tested the HoFo ROM with the 0009 SPL. Let me know if the reception is improved with it.Originally Posted by xxgg
I'd like to know too, my reception is lacking with the 2005 SPL as well.Originally Posted by hotweiss

I used the hofo rom with the 0009 SPL and i had location issues until i went to the 2005.
Then they cleared up, this could however be the time of the day or another reason but I could not get my weather to update properly till i went to 2005.
I am using the Hofo 1.04, was working fine till yesterday and then lost my Gmail access. Say's no connection. My browser is working fine.
It did this before with the stock Rogers Rom when i first bought it.
any ideas ?
You might as well upgrade to 1.09... It most likely isn't an issue with the ROM, but the network or your account.Originally Posted by ghek
There is definitely something up with the Android 3G reception.
I had no reception in the anatomy lab rooms downtown UT, where I usually had it with my Bold.
I sold my Magic in the end, it didn't meet my expectations. Back to the Bold and reception is much stronger, and I can finally text without delays![]()
