I never tried adb remount, but MarketEnabler just froze when I tried to fake a provider.

However, I was playing around a bit, ended up flashing a different ROM, then reflashing the HoFo ROM and now su seems to be working (with no prompt to allow or deny). Certain apps requiring root don't seem to work though, like "Quick Boot".

Also, I still seem to have the volume issue with the HoFo ROM (where you sound very quiet/muffled to the person you're talking to). I assumed this wouldn't be a problem anymore since it's based on the original Rogers ROM...

I think I dicovered what is causing the superuser problem and hopefully I'll be releasing an update tonight.

As far as the volume problem is concerned, I'm assuming that you didn't wipe before you updated to the HoFo ROM?

Yeah, I did do a wipe, but I've been re-installing ROMs so many times in the last couple days, I'll do another check to see if it's fixed.

I just tried 10 apps that required root and had no problems with them. What apps are you guys having trouble with?

    Version 1.1.1

    - removed some unnecessary services from init.rc
    - updated Exchange application (official HTC update)

    * Fixed Exchange Contact and Calendar synchronization issues. After editing contacts without a photo assigned, contact synchronization would fail. After editing calendar appointments and accepting changes using ‘enter’ calendar synchronization would fail.
    * Fixed authentication failure when manually setting up an Exchange server account.

    - version ID is now in the menu: Settings –> About phone –> Mod version

    Download: http://www.4shared.com/file/12348941...0/hofo111.html (rename to update.zip)

Chinese and Japanese input added by tom0927:

    - Chinese input version: http://www.4shared.com/file/12348946...fo111cime.html (rename to update.zip)

    - Japanese input version: http://www.4shared.com/file/12348944...fo111jime.html (rename to update.zip)

Nice, is there any info on the updated Exchange app? I took a quick look at XDA-developers and didn't see anything.

Is it something I can apply to the Fatality 1.4? I'm finding that slow anyways, to be truthful and was really thinking about trying this ROM.

    Thanks.

    N.B.

If you are updating and already have an Exchange account, you have to reset your settings:

    Settings-->Manage Applications-->Click on Mail--> Clear data

    ...and set-up your accounts again.

....except the time on my email is off by an hour. Rats. Tried rebooting phone, deleting account and data and starting over. No go. Any thoughts on how to fix it? My own fault for being a test case I guess.

Oh wow, really. There's no way to fix that. It's in HTC's hands, as they won't open up the source.

Hopefully HTC still releases the code like they said they were going to last week when all of us Dream users were waiting for it.

Everything seems to be working fine now after restoring a nandroid backup of amon_ra's ROM, then re-flashing the HoFo ROM. The only app that still won't work is "Quick Boot", but I think that's an issue with the ROM itself, not anything to do with root/su.

You don't have to wipe, all of your settings will remain after the update

I can't seem to change the wallpaper? It changes on the lock screen, but the actual home screen wallpaper doesn't change.

Anyone else have this issue (using 1.1.2)

Edit: Wallpaper changed after a reboot, but I'm not sure if a reboot is required every time or not.

I am having no problems with my wallpapers. Glad to see a reboot fixed it.
