just joking. i had a 0ne year old 3g sim card and i found that my magic would not connect to the internet using just data occaisionally. i had a brand new sim card in the box that came with my magic so i called rogers and asked them to actvate it and i have not had any issues in the last month
I've had the same SIM card since 2002, no problems with 3G but I'm still using stock Magic.
with just about every rom, i find it super snappy at the very first initial use... than it's not as snappy anymore.Originally Posted by hotweiss

i am using SIM card that came with the HTC Magic.
When I called to activate the SIM that came with the phone, they just told me to use the old one!
i would call back and ask another rep to activate the new sim. you obviously spoke to an idiot. does anyone honestly think that rogers comes out with a newer sim card for no reason?Originally Posted by mr_raider
if flashing back to an older firmware cures the issues for you then stick with the rom that works and wait for another update before flashing again
@hotweiss,
is there any way to use just the new people app from the hero rom in your hofo rom? i have tried some hero roms and i love the added functionality of the new phonebook, but i keep flashing back to your rom as it just works so well. any thoughts? i like the way you can sync groups from outlook, and see the individuals within those groups, and also how it allows you to see any messages from contacts in your phonebook
Going to be getting my Magic soon and I needed to ask a couple of questions regarding ROMS, Rooting and apps.
1) Should I root first, then buy/download apps or the other way around or does it matter?
2) Which root is the best one to use?
3) Which ROM is the best one to use?
4) Are these (root and ROM) the same thing?
Sorry for the newbie questions.
Thanks
you might start by asking the question in the right thread, or by reading existing threads that talk about the things you are asking. this thread deals with one rom in particular, which is very good, by the way. go to this forum, http://howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=514 and read some of the threads and you will find the answers to your questionsOriginally Posted by Snoopygis

COULD YOU ADD THE ANDROID KEYBOARD TO THIS ROM, IT WOULD HONESTLY FINISH ONE OF THE FEW OPTIONS ITS MISSINGOriginally Posted by hotweiss
I HAVE GROWN ACCUSTOM TO IT AFTER USING YOUR ION ROM. BUT THIS ROM HAS MANY MORE IMPROVEMENTS ITS THE ONLY THING I MISS NOW.
I've tried adding it, but it doesn't appear as an option for some reason. I'll look into this problem...Originally Posted by elite_is3
