Wirelessly posted (HTC_Dream Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-ca; Build/1.86.631.1) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1)
Being too lazy to read the entire thread, will this ROM work on the Dream? And if so, will it perform well on a Dream?

I assume once Rogers releases the Sense update to 1.5, this ROM will get rolling again?
It's rolling!Originally Posted by mr_raider

What are the chances we'll see a new Rogers ROM based HoFo in the next couple days?
I really don't want to switch ROMs to get my data back.
So for those of us running this ROM what are our options? I lost my internet today, the rogers update will give me a perfected SPL, and I can't run the updater anyway with a custom ROM.
You can update if you have a custom rom.
Download the HTC sync and updater files. Run the HTC sync, Then the updater.
Now... Here's what I did to get it to update. Hold back and power to get the phone to boot into the white screen with your phone info / three little androids on the bottom.
Plug your phone into the computer - the Update software should be up but not started. Wait for the computer to recognize the phone (this will take a couple of minutes) and then run the HTC update software.
It will recognize the phone and perform the update. The whole process took about 15 minutes + the 3 hours of searching through forums before I remembered the back + power trick to get it to recognize.
Hope this helps anyone else.

Thanks for the info. I found a better solution that doesn't lock my phone down. It was more complex but I just installed cursordroid's ROM which is based off the Rogers update.
A complex and dangerous process though. First upgrade SPL to enginerring 2010 (I hade an older 1009). The upgrade SPL again to 1.76, the upgrade radio and flash new recovery, then upgrade ROM.
So at least three chances to brick your phone. Not for the faint of heart![]()
No only 2 (well a little more than 2 but less than 3 :P). The Radio and the SPL can brick. Flashing a Rom MOST OF THE TIME won't brick a phone.Originally Posted by mr_raider
I was afraid too, but honestly now that I'm running the ROM I TOTALLY regret not checking out CursorDroid's ROMs just because of the different SPL and Radio needed.
But you're right, this isn't for the faint of heart.
HoFo Rom was great as-is. But like many here, my internet went down Jan 24.
Flashed my Magic with CursorSense32A a few hours ago. Then I thought I can get lucky with a Rogers CSP and get a network refresh. I talked with friendly iPhone CSP. Well no go. Apparently everyone including the iPhone CSP's received instructions to advise HTC Magic/Dream customers that a network refresh has a negative effect prolonging the 24hr data blackout regardless of upgrade.
Do I just wait for data to return - as per Rogers... within 24hrs?
I guess Rogers performed the ominous scan. After rebooting a few times (plus a couple of battery re&re), I'm finally back in 2010!Originally Posted by kru-inc
Three. I had to flash an old 2010 engineering SPL first, since it's required for the 1.76 engineering SPL. I never flashed my SPL before.Originally Posted by Taknarosh
yeah. I had to reboot after 24 hours it came back. If it works I say we keep our mouth shut, and let the rest of the sheep go get their perfected SPLsOriginally Posted by kru-inc
