W705 SEUS Update not available after sucessfully changed CDA!!! ???

What is the best GENERIC regions firmware including google map AND the facebook AND the Youtube APP installed in it? And does someone know if 3g used for voide on ROGERS network? or 3g only used for DATA and 2g for voice AND/OR data? I turrned this option off as I don't have a data plan...

Hong Kong version has FB, YouTube and Gmaps, and everything is working for me!

3G is voice and data.
3G voice is UMTS, data is HSPA
2G voice is GSM, and data is EDGE.

If you don't use data (like me), might as well force the phone onto 2G (GSM only) to increase the battery life

Thanks for the tips guys. I got my WiFi working last night.

I changed my security settings to WPA2 only and AES only, and it's working like a charm now. I had it previously set to 'auto' with WPA and WPA2 along with TPIK and AES. Guess the w705 doesn't like non-explicit settings. I was already on a static IP address to avoid any DHCP headaches. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I loaded the France firmware on my phone and it has Youtube and Google Maps. No Facebook.

I just tried the Youtube app and I get a blank screen for the video. Everything else on the screen says the video is playing but no video or sound. I tried it on Opera Mini also and it's failing at the 'buffering' state. It was working yesterday on another network so I assume it's another router issue. Anyway, that's for another thread...

I generate the xml using A2 CDA file generator. The customize_upgrade.xml was being deleted on first boot after copying to the phone using A2Uploader.

I don't understand what you are asking. Any content in customize_upgrade.xml will be used to update your phone's firmware on the first power up. The file will then be deleted. If you are only changing your CDA, you can check to see if your customize_upgrade.xml worked. Go to the service menu:

Yes, cda already changed to customized_upgrade.xml but SEUS says Phone is Updated and having latest firmware and nothing has been changed.

Are the follwing firmwares right/safe to flash ? Are the R1GA031 & R1DA032 should be the same number & alphbets

1.W705_R1GA031_MAIN_GENERIC_RK_RED53.mbn
2. C905_R1DA032_FS_AMERICA_RED53.fbn
3. [Sony Ericsson] C905_1209-4760_R6A_GENERIC_AMERICA
or 1209-4778 R5A

There has always been a problem trying to use SEUS to update a W705 phone with AMERICA firmware. I have not figured out how to do it yet!
If you want, you can update firmware manually using the steps I provided on page 2, but it will not get you AMERICA firmware... this is not a big issue to most people.

Keep in mind that you must use the same numbers + letters for MAIN and FS (you CAN'T use R1GA031 for MAIN, and R1DA032 for FS)
You should not use C905 FS for a W705 phone.

Is it possible to give the links for downloading the 3 correct files (mdn,fbn & customspack). I think i can debrand/flash the phone accordingly but i don't know which are the right files.

After flashing the Mbn,Fbn & uploadinging Custpack, do i need to upload these two files (Customerized.xml & Preloaded_Config.xml) ? According to the A2uploader video, where are they ?

I already flashed the first two files. But I am not able to upload the Custpack. Following the instruction to drap & drop the file to the SystemFile window TPA/Preset/Custom in a2Uploader as per video. But it won't work. plaease help !

Glad to hear it worked out for you.
In the future, put the path to the cutpack .zip file into the box at the bottom of A2uploader. I think the box is called "MISC files". No need to unzip the custpack. A2uploader will take care of everything.
