    enV Touch VX11000

I am a previous HTC Touch (Sprint) owner which is a WM 6.1 phone. I am able to backup and restore the contacts from it to my PC using MS ActiveSync. However, I do not use the Outlook Sync feature because I have no need to sync the Outlook calendar and all my Outlook contacts with my cell phone. Instead I was using PIM Backup to create backups of my cell phone contact list, which I could then simply move over to my PC and edit the files in a txt editor or Excel, and the file restore to my HTC phone, again with PIM Backup.

I want to be able to copy all my contacts on the HTC Touch over to the new LG enV Touch. Can I do this manually with an import/export tool and maybe reformat the layout of the contacts so that they are according to what the LG requires?

Or perhaps I have to create a new Outlook 2007 data file (an empty .pst file) on my PC and then do a Sync to the PC by copying all the contacts from the HTC phone into the new Outlook data file, then exporting these back into the LG phone using LG Outlook Sync. Would this work? Is there a better way, or am I going to have to re-type everything in on the LG phone?

I haven't explored the posibility of going into a Verizon store and asking them if they can do it for me, maybe I should do that?

Just found out that Backup Assistant is only helpful if you have your old phone with Verizon and it's still active, and you upload it to save all your contacts. Then after you activate your new phone, you can again use BA to download your contacts to the new phone.

What I had to do is take my Sprint phone and new Verizon phone into one of the Verizon Stores that has extended services (meaning the ability to program phones with one of those black boxes... it does a lot of other things too). Anyway, they hooked the Sprint phone and Verizon phone up to the box and transferred everything for me in just 3 minutes.

I am really happy about that!
