Metro Phones work in San Antonio through the "extended coverage". Actually thats us roaming on Cricket. So our phones do work there but we are using cricket's towers. I would recommend just getting cricket. Anyways there are no Metro Stores there so you can't activate anything unless you come to Dallas or something.

A very good point. The only way to activate, change, update, send a picture, browse the web, etc is when you are in a native MetroPCS area. The roaming agreement with Cricket/Pocket/Cleartalk is unlimited voice/text only. Not anything else.
