New Phone - Transferring number and minutes - How?

Once a new Tracfone is purchased - in retail store or from Tracfone.

From my experience it's easy to activate a new retail phone with a new telephone number.

But, after one purchases a new Tracfone and one has an old Tracfone, can the transfer of minutes and telephone number be done on line? On computer?

Or does one have to telephone Tracfone Customer Service to get this done?

Since I don't purchase many phones all I remember is telephoning Customer Service to transfer all on my last phone a few/many years ago to a new Tracfone phone. Can this be done online?

If both phones are active and the receiving phone is gsm then you have to call CS. Can't transfer to an active gsm online. You can transfer to an active cdma online or with CS.

If you want to transfer to an inactive phone you can do that online. Depends on what type of phones you are working with as to whether you have to transfer the number or not. Find all the info and tutorials on my links page HERE

Transferring from a newly activated phone is not recommended anymore, They have started turning off phones that receive transfers from phones that have never had any paid for minutes added to it.
