Kajeet Unlimited Text Messaging $14.99 + 60 Minutes of Talk Time per Month

I did a search and I see a few posts about Kajeet, but nothing about the Unlimited Text Messaging $14.99 + 60 Minutes of Talk Time per Month. That might be a good plan for my oldest son eventually. I gather from other posts regarding Kajeet that this is a Spring MVNO and they will only allow certain phones to be authorized. Can anybody confirm if that is still the case? Also, are there any GSM MVNOs with a similar unlimited text with a small amount of minutes for a reasonable price? (Not that I dislike CDMA, but I would like to use a phone of my own choosing.)

For $5.00 more you can get 150 minutes. Just letting you know.
T-Mobile. Connecting you when you need it most... disconnecting you when you need to connect with God's beautiful creation! Service is great in cities and highways, but in rural areas they leave you with just your surroundings. I encourage you to get T-Mobile, disconnect for a while!

I am glad that God is not like cell phone coverage. He does not hide behind mountains or loose us down long windy roads. The Lord levels mountains, and He makes our paths straight!

    Unlimited texting

This is the cheapest unlimited text plan in prepaid for standalone plans.
Virgin Mobile's version costs $5 more and has no talk minutes. However, they do give you pic, video, instant messaging and email too , not just texting.

For unlimited gsm texting plan on prepaid, there's pretty much just Att's unlimited GoPhone messaging plan. $20 a month and you have to have a voice plan. They have three: 1) 25 cents a minute flat rate. 2)$1 a day access fee, unlimited Att mobile to mobile and 10 cents anytime minutes, access fee charged only on days used, 3) $3 a day unlimited talk only on days used. If he doesn't talk much , I'd go with the 25 cents flatrate.
They give you unlimited picture messaging and instant messaging as well as texting.

Kajeet DOES NOT allow other phones on their network, not even Sprint phones even though it is a Sprint reseller.

Verizon resellers generally can use Verizon phones (except Straight Talk), but Sprint resellers it is a case by case basis. But the general rule is that most of them won't allow Sprint phones on their system, Kajeet included.

These 2 Kajeet plans would be great for a couple of my family members on now using VM USA but I am not excited about purchasing any more provider locked phones . I wonder if Page Plus Cellular ( PP ) will come out with something similar .

Actually, the Owl's hooting and hinting that there will be an unlimited texting plan for 19.95 to replace the older 19.95 /5000 text plan.
You can buy the cheapest card for $10 and add the text package on.

And use any Verizon phone ever made pretty much. No pic/video messaging, but phone choice up the yin yang. Verizon prepaid really cripples your choice of the really good stuff by going no smartphones. Yeah, they have pic/vid/im...but whatever. Per minute cost is 25 cents a minute! Highway robbery.

Page Plus is 12 cents a minute, max. It's a nice deal when you think about it...

Supposed to be in August - Sept.

I am aware of that possible Page Plus Cellular unlimited text package . I really would like to see Page Plus Cellular mirror the 2 Kajeet plans mentioned (but with overage minute at reason rates (6-12 cents ).

I use Kajeet. I may cancel since I now have Skype on my phone, but I can't complain about their service. I pay $5 for one month of service and $10 for 1000 night/weekend minutes for a month.

They block some 800 numbers like 800-555-TELL and 800-FREE411. Calls seem to take longer to connect, probably because they first go through Kajeet's servers to check for authorization.

Really good if you want to restrict times that the phone can be used for kids.

Not sure why bamx2 cares that the phones are locked to a provider. The phones are cheap. Use them and toss/recycle them.

The Kajeet LG Rumor QWERTY phone is pricey . ($179 on the the Kajeet website ). It would be a winner if they could bring the price down closer to $100 ( maybe $125 ?) .

As MMS and IM are extra , it could get expensive . It would be nice to them be included in the unlimited messaging pack like VMUSA has . Ad Data plan option would be great too .
