Interesting. That will bring even more people in to Boost if they actually market them on the Boost plans. Let's just hope that Sprint takes the time to update the iDEN system to handle the new customers.
Obviously Sprint does have and has had a plan all along for real growth on pre-paid iDEN & CDMA (Virgin Mobile).Originally Posted by martin_j001
Funny what an open platform does for sales. Can we hope they include a WiFi/4G WiMAX chipset to them?
Also could a Clear, Sprint-Nextel, Comcast merger be imminent?
This good News for IDEN/Nextel/Boost. I still wish someone could buy IDEN from Sprint.

Somebody soon might. As of the 1st of August, Boost is lowering discount to retailers from 16% to 10%. Additionally, they are applying additional restrictions over who carries and sells their products, as in, they don't want their products in convenience stores.Originally Posted by easy_b
We can extrapolate two things from these actions:
1. They're beefing up their margins with the percentage drop
2. They're cleaning up the distribution channel, making the operation more "sellable"
...
There is obviously a large overall plan in place, one that more than likely entails Virgin Mobile to become more "mainstream" with advertising and better devices clearly with Boost Mobile to put the squeeze on MetroPCS & Cricket.Originally Posted by drprepaid
Boost Mobile with Android smart phones?ya there are some positive changes ahead for these two brands. There is probably much more planned than many know about especially considering who knew about the Virgin buy out?

Considering Comcast invested hundreds of MILLIONS into Clear, it wouldn't surprise me if Sprint-Nextel, Clear, Comcast, and Time Warner as well all merged. Time Warner who also invested into Clear and will be re selling 4G WiMAX in Dallas & N.C. soon.

This type of merger wouldn't surprise me one bit.
Correction:
Comcast invested $1.05 billion, Intel Capital invested $1.0 billion in addition to its previous investments made in Clearwire, Time Warner Cable invested $550 million, Google invested $500 million, and Bright House Networks invested $100 million, for an aggregate total of $3.2 billion.

Thanks for the great news. Android pwns windows mobile.
Lets just hope that Moto does something that can compete hardware-wise. Lately, Moto has seemed to be falling behind other brands in terms of design...no one wants Razr-like phones anymore, most seem to want iPhone-like phones. Touchscreen Moto running Android, anyone?![]()
Yes!! Im a BIG Android and Moto fan. I may renew my Boost account if it happens. Im still waiting for Android on Sprint also. I hope the talks are true. But...its far off.![]()

The margins weren't dropped from 16% to 10%...for me two of my four pin providers knocked it down 50% to 8%!
Over the last 6 months, my Tmo/Boost store has pretty much turned around, becoming Boost/Tmo...
8% is gonna hurt, but I guess we should be happy it didn't get cut further...
As a very recent former T-Mobile subscriber (9yrs), some of us were predicting this earlier this year when Boost Mobile announced $50 Unlimited Plan. Boost Mobile with it's first full quarter of the $50 Unlimited, added just shy of 1million iDEN subs.Originally Posted by tmotytn
