    3390 Battery Questions

Ok I need some help here RE: batteries.

I have the standard battery that came with my 3390 and I dont like the performance. I know that they sell the upgrade batt for 39.00 that is longer lasting. Can someone tell me if that is worth the 40 bones? I get several diff answers from the voicestream folks. The lithium I am told is well worth it but not in my price range at this time.

Any input would be great. I need my phone ready to roll at all times and I hate to get called in 30 minutes after I set it on the charger for the day (everyday)
    Thanks

You can shop around for those non-original branded batteries. They come at a much cheaper price and the performance is very good. I remember seeing a couple of posts concerning the performance of these batteries so people who have experience with these types of batteries can give some insight here.

Ok thanks. I am willing to try Non-Nokia brand batteries but I will have to search around for them. I would love some input from those who have the upgraded battery and even the lithium batteries.

    Thanks again

Considering that the longevity of the things isn't much (1.5-2yrs. for Li-Ion, about 3yrs. for Ni-MH) in comparison to the phone itself, it really isn't much of a gamble speding money on an aftermarket battery. Some people have handed down the phone to someone else long before the battery has died anyway.

Besides, OEM batteries carry Nokia's name, but they don't make them. Some of the aftermarkets are of as good or better quality, although some aren't. Most of the generic ones I've used have served me well, and seem to outperform the OEM's for me.

I wouldn't count on the cells being made in more than a half dozen factories in the whole world. The only thing I would expect is that Nokia has higher QC standards than the aftermarket companies.

Note that this "should" go for other cellular companies as well. However, that does not mean that original Nokia branded products are any better than aftermarket items. For every dollar you plunk down for geniune products, a hefty chunk goes to the branded name.

Anyone tried the 900 mAh battery Vs the stock battery. I have talked to several associates at vstream and they say I will get about an hour more talk time. I cant seem to get more than 1.5-2.0 days before I get to one bar.

    Thanks

Yes, the prices are good, but be warned check the shipping charge. I'm not sure where they are located, but the last shipment I got from them came from Hong Kong. I don't have a problem with that, just be aware that shipping inflates the price a bit, but looking around at what others charge for similar it's still a good deal. Their other accessories are priced well also. Got a clear plastic case with a belt loop/button arrangement that I've been very pleased with. Nice to use that since I do have a nice colored faceplate.
