VM notification for Fido users of HTC Dream/Magic

    Hi all,
I made a small android program thta displays the VM icon when you receive a VM (it waits for the +18 sms). This is a simple proof-of-concept app. When I have time, I'll improve it by adding proper notification (Sound, Led, Vibrating...).

I am providing it as is, it works well on my phone. Feel free to post questions, comments, suggestions...

This is great! Too bad I don't use an Android phone to check it out. Could you make something like this for Windows Mobile?

    Exclamation

Let me know if you decide to do this as I can provide you with a lot of helpful insight and make things clear.

I have an HTC TyTN you can use to create this fix for Windows Mobile. If you can solve the Fido roaming problem too, you can keep it

I might make you up on that offer! But I have no idea what the Fido roaming problem is. Care to explain?

Since Rogers Wireless bought Microcell communications, they have taken over the Fido towers and merged them with Rogers' towers into the Rogers network.

Since then, Fido users who use non-Fido branded handsets always have the roaming indicator on as if they are roaming, when in fact they are not.

Any more development on this? Given how widely used Android now, you'd figure there would be better integration of VM notifications.
