Well...I know then if you looking for an Apple iPhone 3Gs you need to take a 3 years Fido agreement...
From that point, you can ask for that 17,50$ Price Plan+10,00$ Retention Value Pack+25,00$ Data Option...
So for around 60,00$ taxes inc. You have: 200 Min. WeekDays, billed by the seconds. Fido Extended coverage. Evening+Week-End Unlimited after 5PM. Call Display, Enhance VoiceMail, 1000 SMS (Canada) & Finally 500 MB of internet connection. No S.A.F
You can call back and ask for this package and they will offer you without a problem...

Unfortunately Fido won't give you any deal if you don't take at least a 24 months Fido agreement...So maybe I can suggest you call them back and ask what can be done..and worst case scenario what is available with Rogers...

If the Bell offer I'm trying to match is available on as short as a 1-year contract, does this give any leverage to get a deal from Fido without committing for a full 3 years??
I'm currently on an old Fido promotional plan:100 minutes
e/w @ 5pm <- important. $30. An old bundle:caller id, voice mail
12 MB data. 2500 sms <- important - although I don't need that many
some other crap I didn't want! :-)Total, including taxes, SAF - $70
I want to keep my current phone. I've found that the Telus smartphone 50 plan would suit my needs very well, since they currently have the e/w @ 6pm etc promotion. However, if I can stay at Fido with a competitive plan, I would.
If you don't want to take a Fido agreement, no problem...
There's a 20,00$ Loyalty Price plan available without Fido agreement. You have for that price 200 Min. Week-Days, billed by the second. Evening+Week-End unlimited after 7PM. For 6,00$ extra You can have early evening at 5PM.
So 20,00$+6,00$+7,45$ (S.A.F/911)=33,45$ before taxes.
From that point you can "try" to convince them to replace your 18,00$ Value Pack with a 10,00$ Retention Value Pack (Call Display,Enhance VoiceMail,2500 SMS)+ the 15,00$ Retention Data Option (150 MB). Due to the fact then you already having a Data Option, you have a little bit more chance of getting it. Like the Loyalty Price Plan & Options, these Retention Options are available without agreement...but you need to give some good arguments to get them...

I managed to get the $15/150mb retention plan today...
Currently have Cityfido $40, $7 CID and $25/500mb plan, with contract (for Cityfido only) until June 2010. I use barely 40mb/month, so the $25/500mb plan is useless for me. I called in yesterday to the main number, asked if there was anything better they could offer me. CSR toed the company line, said $25/500mb is best they can offer. I said my "friend" has a $15/150mb plan, and asked if I could get that as well. CSR said that's no longer offered, it was a special offered during the summer only. Fine, whatever.
I called back today, told the CSR that I wanted to cancel my $25/500mb data plan because I hardly use it (total BS, but anyway). CSR put me on hold, then came back and said that he's going to transfer me to customer relations. Relations guy came on the phone, I said I want to cancel my $25/500mb plan. He told me to hold on a minute, then came back and offered me the $15/150mb plan, without requiring me to sign a data contract. I took the plan, comes into effect on my next billing cycle (next week).

Hmm okay, so if I add the $25 data option today, no contract, is it likely I could get it knocked down to the $15/150 retention option after a month or two, still no contract?
The way I figure it, even if I use a full 500 MB on the $15 option, the overage would only put me up to just over $25 again. So in any month where I use less I save money, and otherwise it's a wash.
This Retention option will be available to you only if you have the regular Data Option for at least 90 days...

Thx for the info!
I called them back and that is exactly what they were able to offer me. So now I have the following:
$17.50 - 200 min + unlimit e/w 5pm
$10 - value pack
$25 - 500MB data
No SAF
I asked again if I could get the 150MB for $15 and she told me I have to wait 3 months with my $25 500MB data plan and call back again to get it.
I also asked if she could give me any credit, she said the best she could do is give me extra 100 minutes for 3 months, can't do any cash credit.
So that's what I took in the end. Thanks for all the info!
i rly wanna get f2f and/or f2r or unlim incoming calls with my plan
I just signed a 3yr contract with fido with iphone 3gs 16gb 199- fido $
I changed to gardenplan a yr ago so i couldnt get a good deal
25$ garden plan
100 weekday min
unlim evening and weekends starting at 5pm for 6 months
unlim texts
15$ 150mb data
7$ Caller ID
-7$ Caller ID Credit for the duration of contract
= 40$+tax
i am fine if i pay like 5 more dollars to get f2f and f2R or unlim incoming call + few more weekday min
do you guys think its possible?
Would i have a leverage if i say I feel like my 3 yr plan that i am locked up with now is not very good considering the plans that windmobile has?
I can cancel within 14 days of contract right?
Would this work??
Well my main goal would be to have a $50/mo plan with 5pm early unli. calling (change from 7>5pm) and lower the price by $10 ($60 right now). I can easily lower it to 50 by getting the unl email add-on for $15 instead of 500mb for $25 but I want to use it for surfing the web and everything so I won't give that up. I can't call right away... so how long should I wait until I can ask them to get credit? (how long does this credit last? till my contract ends?)
Edit: ALSO I check MyFido on the website and my plan said 300 minutes (my old was 100 minutes.. my new is 200.. 100+200=300. My texting is 5000, I had 2500 and he offered to keep the 2500 and add 1000 picture messages free.) I don't want to be paying extra basically for my old plan... is this fidos mistake/glitch or am I going to be mad at my next phone bill.
I don't expect any glitches from Fido. You might see double infos due to the post dated price plan changes...
you need to realise then for 60,00$ before taxes you have 200 min. week-days, billed by the second. Evening+Week-End Unlimited starting @ 5PM. access to the expended network from Fido/Rogers all accross the country. Call Display, Enhance Voicemail, 2500 SMS to Canadian cellphones. 500 MB of Blackberry Internet Service and finally no S.A.F. charge...
Any other Fido subscriber with a similar setup would pay at least 76,00$...
