Ya I know... just after hunting and calling all over the place, I've gotten somewhat confused

And I guess I was just trying to get validation. Also, if this a good deal, I want to share it with others here, so they too, can have a good deal.

    Getting it tomorrow night.

Well I kinda got screwed into loosing my $45 plan. I didn't know my contract was ending and I never received the letter for renewal and I was at least expecting a call but they never called me to renew so I became off contract. My bill is usually the same every month and so I rarely look at it and pay my bill 2 months in advance so I always have a credit on the account. Then two months after not knowing my contract was up i decided to open my mail and take a look and saw that my rate plan was now $50 and they were charging me the SAF now. I called they told me there's nothing I could do and that they could only credit me for that month only... after 25 minutes on the phone with them.

So, I resigned on a contract. I very very rarely leave Toronto and if I do it's in the summer when I go camping and I don't use my phone out there besides that a don't really get any reception where I go camping.

    City Fido VS City Fido

I suggest you to triple check both City Fido Zone Maps before making the change...

After paying the 35,00$ Setup fee, you'll have City Fido 2009 @ 40,00$/2000 Min. local calls within the City Fido Zone+ Unlimited SMS in Canada. Then you change the 15,00$ Visual Voice Mail Value pack to the 10,00$ VVM version (Name Display will be available this time). Don't be fool to drop the 30,00$/6GB Option and you should be good to go!

    40,00$/City Fido
    10,00$/VVM
    30,00$/6GB Data Option
    -------
    80.00$+Taxes

    Good Luck!

Retentions said they'd call me "Sunday latest" about my dispute.

They said I agreed to paid the $10 VP, I was under the notion that I was being credited for it. I said no way, hence the reason I called in after the agreement (price plan analysis, later call) and confirmed that.

They said fine, we'll have the rep come again and we'll ask her what happened and listen to the original call.

Should I be pressuring them to hurry up? Is it just bureaucratic inertia at work? Who knows if they really are looking at it right...

Is there anyone on the standard $17.50 plan (200dt, ul ew 5pm) with the $10vp (callerid, 2500txt, vm) who managed to get the VP for free?

I CLEARLY remember agreeing to $17.50 all-in for the VP, they said in the notes I agreed to $27.50.
I called in AGAIN, on the same day...took my own notes saying the VP was free....for the duration, but their notes say the exact same thing (not free).

I was under the notion it was free till the 27th when my bill showed....saying the following:

    Jan 24 - Feb 23 200/Unl. E/WE+Eve. 5pm 17.50
    Credit: Monthly credit $5 - ends Jan 23/10 -5.00
Credit: Monthly credit of $5 -5.00
    Value Pack 10.00
    Evenings starting at 5 p.m. 7.00
Credit: Eve. Start. at 5 p.m. Cr. -7.00
    Minute Tracker 0.00
    .............
    Total before taxes: $17.83
    GST(#R141217232) 0.89
    PST 1.43
    Total for Fido: $ 2 0.15

Ok, according to that - shouldn't I get atleast one free $5 credit?

So I call in one rep....he says $22.50.
    Call in again....to confirm, I get $27.50

Launched a case, said they reviewed it all - result: $27.50

Had them look over the notes from the call I made where the man said $22.50, argued that I should get it for $22.50 cause of my bill clearly saying it - Nope, $27.50. Despite them acknowledging, yes he did say $22.50...and then I say, well why not? He says it, and my bill says it....he said nope, $27.50...

Screwed, royally. CSR said that if I send this to a manager, they could very well take away my retentions plan, put me on a post 10/4/08 plan...AND they'll take away my 1000 LD minutes that I got for free, cause that is not allowed either.

    ****ed up.

TKAY, what I suspect is your 2 credits of 5,00$ each was related to your previous Retention Offer under previous Fido Basic Plan. Now they've been deleted from your profile when you got the Retention Price Plan. Honestly I would keep everything as is before they change everything back to what it was...CSR is right, a Manager will change it back to your Basic Price Plan if you keep calling...

Thats not a bad plan, but also not the most you can push for I think.. My plan with Telus is $25 - 250 minutes daytime, evenings and weekends at 6, Cid/vmail free, unlimited incoming, +$5 for my faves (5 free numbers), $37 w/saf + tax.

For Data, i was paying $15 unlimted but lost it and they wont give it back to me, so i refuse to get data because of that, however for 1gb it would cost $30 extra.. so $60 + saf + tax..
So close.. however mine includes my faves and incoming for close to the same cost.

I would call back and try to get either unl incoming or my faves and a credit as well, unless you dont need any additional features to round out your plan.

    * sorry fritz, i quoted you by accident *

Looks like retentions and loyalty are two separate depts now.

So what's the implication? One dept can give out certain stuff and the other can't? We'll be transferred back and forth?

    Just got my wife and mine done on a new 3 year term + each got a iphone 16gb 3gs with this;

    200 weekdays
    unlim. eve/weekends - reg time
    unlim. fido 2 fido
    unlim. incoming
    2500 texts
    Vmail & caller display
    500MB data
    no 911
    no system access fee

$60 per phone not incl. taxes

Mind you this was for two contracts. We used to have a couples package and now its seperate. I think it was pretty fair.

2 year city fido contract is almost up, all I really want is unlimited text, but it's so much you might as well get voice, etc. etc. my bill is around $70/month with tax.

I was thinking of getting a refurbished iphone for 50 bucks. What sort of deal do you think I could swing plan-wise? I've never used retention before, always just renewed my city-fido.
I'd rather get a non-apple based product, but it looks like fido's still got the best deal going on.. and the phone will only 15 bucks with my fido dollars....

Phew, they're give me a $5 credit so no complaints...unless all three of us (listening into the call) "misheard" again...

    $22.50
    - 200dt
    - ul e/w @ 5PM
    - $10 vp (callerID/2500TXT/VM) w/ $5 credit for duration

    No complaints.

I think calling in before closing helps.

From what I gather, they (the reps) don't get penalized for giving credits right...so, if you just call in just before they head out..they'll be like ahh what the hey, i'll just give him a few credits here and there it'll save me arguing and all that.
