The 3 year contract ends in september 2010 and i just called them to see that i can get a possible upgrade next week. march 5, but then i asked the guy about the $15 50mb loyalty deal and he said he's never heard of it.
is it not possible to get a retention or a loyalty deal if i'm doing a upgrade?
should i wait until the contract expires?
i've been really frustrated with my phone though, i had the chocolate and the screen is blank. I had a 1yr warranty so i changed it once to have the same problem. i think the phone it self is faulty. should i call customer service and complain about this demanding a deal?

Sure he can...but don't forget then he's not even on his 6 months Fido agreement Renewal Window...so in two months from today...I'm pretty sure Fido will be able to do something for him...

Also got the 150$ credit on my renewal. Totally unexpected, but was happy to get it. It was about covering the cost of my new phone (t715) because I was getting on a non-saf plan.

But I refused it and go for 6 months of credit no contract for now...

I have the $17.50 plan on my primary line and just got a 2nd line over the weekend.

The 2nd line is the basic $15 plan + the $15 blackberry add on.

I really want to get the $17.50 plan on my 2nd line but when I called Fido to ask them if i can get the $17.50 on a 2nd line, they said that since it will be a new line then it will have to be the new plans they offer to new customers.

Now, I was wondering if there is a way for me to negotiate with fido in giving me the 17.50 plan. If so, when can I do it? is it after a month, 3 months or longer?

Don't bother trying...there's simply no way and Fido won't be shy to terminate your service if you threat to leave...

Knowing the SOC won't help you. The reps know it exists, but that SOC is a "loss" for the company...they will only give you the M2M version at their discretion but generally the plan is reserved for contracts to guarantee that revenue is generated.

I called 1-888-259-3436 and I saw that they changed the menu options, I did not see any option for cancellations. Before It was better I think when you just hit 6 for cancellations. Anyhow, a regular CS transferred me to someone and the gave me this:

200 minutes
Ulimited night w/e 5pm
voice mail / call display / text message 2500 I think
500 megs DATA, I guess he is charging me full price $ 25.00 for this.
NO SAF.
For $ 52.00 + taxes

Right now I have:

150 minutes day, 1500 n/weekend at 7pm
Voice mail, call display.
BIS for 4megs
with SAF
for $ 59.00 with taxes but since a month it's $ 79.00 because of the contract is expired.

Is there a better way to get a real retention agent and a better deal?

Also, a Girl at the Fido booth told me to keep my old $ 30 plan with SAF because they cannot raise the fees for that plan when my contract is expired in 3 years, is that true?

I've been trying to negotiate a renewal, since my 3 year contract is expiring:

Current:
Couples Plan
Shared between 3 lines:
-300 + 300 anytime minutes (600 total)
-Unlimited Incoming
-Unlimited EW (7 pm)
Charges on each line:
3x VM Pack for $10 each (one line has VM+CID+2500 txt, other two just have the VM+CID)
3x SAF
3x $10 credits
Total: About $105/month after tax

So far I've been offered (2 different calls):
1. Exact same package as above, keep same credits, but nothing new, renew 2 years

or

2. The 17.50 package for each of the lines as follows for 2 year term:
-200 Min
-Unlimited EW after 5pm
-Add $10 for VM+CID+2500 Txt
-$5 Credit per line
-Add $10 unlimited incoming if I want to ...
-They won't budge on extending the $17.50 offer to a fourth line
(The only benefit I have here is that two of the lines are used lightly, which means I can forego adding unlimited incoming and save about $20)

I've told them I'd be willing to sign a 3 year contract, and add a fourth line to the couples plan, if they could apply any partial credits ($5, $4) towards the SAF on the current lines on couples plan...

I've been getting a "can't apply more than $10 credit" line. Now last time I renewed (about 2 yrs ago for the last line) they were able to apply $5 credits alongside the $10 credits (however the $5 credits were shorter term...12 months). Has something changed on how much leeway retentions has with credits...

Am I likely to get any better by trying this once more...?

Also, my current phones are fine, but given I have $185 in fido dollars, any suggestions on how they may best be used given I'm about to renew?

... any chance I can get away with picking up an IPhone 3G for $99 without getting the data package....

okay i managed to get this for my phone. just a basic voice plan.

100min/1000 evenings & weekends/unlimited incoming - $25
additional 100 daytime min ($10 credit)
5pm early evenings ($0.00)
value pack: 2500 text, caller ID & voice mail ($10.00 credit)
grand total with tax: $28.25

i was able to get this while still on contract, i still have about 18 months left. i didn't have to renew my agreement.

i even called twice to double check my plan and my credits. they say it my bill will look "normal" by next month.
