Guys, what do you think of my retention deal?

- 250 day mins
- Unlimited Incoming
- Unlimited Fido 2 Fido
- Caller-ID+ Name Display
- Enhanced Voice Mail
- 2500 outgoing SMS
- System and 911 fees included
Price is 25$+tx = 28.22$ (in Quebec)

Additional option: 5$ for 1000 Canadian LD mins

I think I'll take it, but I'd love your input.

Edit: Forgot to add that it's on a 2yr term which gives me 250 day mins instead of 200 and 6 month unlimited local calling.

the $25 plan is standard
& $10 unlimted incoming with a $10 Credit is also normal
the 50 minute added is wierd, i think its a bonus option

$5 for 1000 LD Canadian LD mins is not Fido as far as i know
with fido version is $10 1000 LD

The current $25 "standard" retentions plan is amazing IMO, nothing else comes close simply due to the all the features being included, with no SAF.

I have the same but have early evening and weekends starting at 5pm. Did you just forget to add that you have that (or at 7pm)?

Also have the $5 1000LD but it's a note on my account. Don't need it right now but may need it in the future. Just a question to the reps...if it's a note on the account, how long is that valid for?

Hey Guys,
This is for my GF and her bro who are on one account....not too familiar with the Fido side of things, so hopefully you guys can help me out here. (They want me to call in for them, cause there not good at these types of things, or call in together). There bills right now are between $110-$125 since August, previous to that they were paying $200+ each month for about a two years. I negotioted there current plans for them it was the best I could get with out renewing. Do Fido Reps look at past spending to determine how much in credits they are willing to give out to certain customers?

My gf's line is still on contract for another year, Feb 2010, her bro's is now out of contract as of January 2009.

For him I want to get the $25 retention plan (200 DT, unlimited after 7, texts, CID, VM correct?), plus add a long distance option, he's a student and needs it.
I think he has 100 right now for $5, is there other options I can ask for? 1000 for $10 with a $5 credit of some sort?

If I can get that for $30-35 he would sign back up for a 2 or 3 year term. On top of that he needs a new phone, his outside screen cracked a few weeks ago and needs something. Wants an Iphone, with no Data, 249 or 349 with the plan option above correct? Does retention deal on new phones for current clients, at minimun can I get the $35 fee waived? He mainly wants the iphone to converge a few of his devices (ipod/phone and old school paper calendar).

For my GF she does not want to get to sign a new deal, she started a new job and they will pay for a company BB and home internet after 6 months (so 5 months from now). Her bills are about $60 a month with taxes, and she is on retention plan...will they give her any credits even though she won't renew like they did before or is that done?

Is f2f normal part of that plan? Some say they got it some don't, he got it just wondering if he put a credit in for it or if its normal.
iphone for $240 taxed in after fido dollars (not that much there).

My gf's line has a pending offer just need some advice if there can be any further credits.

She does not have to renew her contract to get this, it will still expire next year. Does that sound right?

Also what threw me off, we asked about roaming long distance charges while she is outside of toronto. He said for $5 we can add something that can get rid of those charges. I think there was misscommunication and he thought we didn't have coverage in cerain areas and were on the rogers network. But is there any plans that she can use? or is she stuck here?

Ummm if its a Note its up to the rep you get to give it to you or not...

1000can ld mins is 10$ they way you just expplained it you would get a 5$ credit..so its up to the rep if they want to give out the credit

Works the same if someone calls her longdistance outside of her home area?

I dumbed down the question cause im really dumb when it comes to long distance on cells.

Here's a few examples of long distance being charge (using the 1000 LD minutes).

Here's how it works..

you have a toronto number, which means that you are registered with the toronto cellular tower. this is important to know, because all incoming calls will be process from this tower.

receIVING CALLS

1. if you are in toronto, and you receive a call from someone in toronto or even from someone in waterloo, the toronto cellular process your call and your phone rings.. (NO usual of the 1000 LD)

2. if you are in waterloo, and you receive a call from someone waterloo or even someone back home in Toronto, the Toronto cellular process your call, but this time it has to transfer the call to the Waterloo Cellular network because you are in Waterloo, so the 1000 LD will apply.


MAKING CALLS

when you make a call, your cellphone is registered with the closest cellular network tower.

1. which means that if you are in waterloo, and you make a call to someone in waterloo, the call should be a local call because you are already in waterloo.. but if you call someone in toronto, then it will be a long distance call (THE 1000 ld minutes will apply)... since the waterloo cellular tower has to process the call, and transfer the call to the toronto cellular tower.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I had unlimited w/e and w/n but starting at 7PM. I think I'll try to negotiate 5PM and then accept the deal.

I'm not sure which 40$ retention you are referring to. I got offer the 25$ retention plan + unlimited incoming for free. I'm gonna try and add the 5pm early start. I also got offered 1000 LD for 5$.

So it's 25$+tx or 30$+tx if I add the LD mins.
