I'm sticking around and hanging on to my T-Mo SIM, but I'm putting it in a nonsmartphone right now (Nokia 2xxx something phone) and using it as my backup. Switched iPhone over to ATT $19.99/mo + 25˘/min calls. I only use a little data (probably 50MB at most/month) and it rolls over so I'll be fine.

But I want my T-Mobile back, reception with AT&T is horrible in my house. 1-2 bars vs a normal 3-5 for T-Mo. If I didn't have wifi+skype I'd be **** out of luck.

Is anyone using HotSpot Shield's L2TP VPN with their SK prepaid plan still? I haven't been able to connect to the VPN via L2TP...kept getting the error "the L2TP-VPN server did not respond. Try reconnecting...."

Has T-Mobile also blocked this as well? I was able to connect to my university's IPSec VPN without a problem, but once connected it doesn't seem to actually route any traffic through the VPN.

Push mail still works with my .mac account though with or without VPN.
    I like prepaid services...methinks.

you can try 3rd party non port 80 proxy, but the outcome is pretty unpredictable

Thanks for reply scotish, but I am somehow still rerouted to the iphone-wu.apple.com site whenever I tried to lunch a youtube video. of course it ended up with a 404 error in log.

BTW i was using safari broswer.

I've had some luck with proxies myself, the bizzare thing though is that I can get it set up on an old Samgsung t309 no problem but I can't seem to figure out how to actually get my Unlocked blackjack all set up. I assume it's because I have no cluse how to use Windows Mobile 6 at all.

Anyone who could Help me a PM would be much appricated.

After a bit-O-fiddlin' I got the thing to work properly, although even un-proxied I've not had any luck getting any sort of IM clients to work properly. Email of course works just fine and dandy though. Any ideas would be much appriciated

I know this is an old thread. What are my current options for the iPhone? The $20 100MB plan with AT&T is not enough. I just need to be able to check email even if it is just EDGE speed.

LOL! for just email, 100 megs will be more than enough. even with push notfications and intense email action.

or you could pay the 30 dollars a month for tmobile.

meh, either way, i get it all free on tmo prepaid.

Apparently not because I have 8 emails accounts checking mail every 15 minutes, IM+ with push and stay connected. Occasionally, I use the ESPN scores app. I even tried to change checking mail to every hour. It runs through quick!
