The virtual keyboard was present in the early versions of the n97. You can see it on youtube. In fact its still there inside the firmware. During boot up you can trick it into displaying the full keyboard for a split second, but then it goes away. Nokia simply removed access to the virtual keyboard because they like to cause their users nokia rage.

I like that term.. Nokia rage. Very "spot on" in so many ways.
How does that trick go? I mean, how do you get the keyboard to display if only for a split second?
This should work but you'll have to sign it.

I can only say it works on both the Omnia HD and the 5800.
Im trying it right now, it works but a bit annoying on the N97.
Lets say you are on google.com. You select the textbox, the default keyboard shows up. You have to close the keyboard, then hit the little icon for the virtual keyboard to use it on the N97.
