Back when I worked for VZW, 1994-2003, they were always trying to drive up the $$$ per user (I forget the acronym): we're not the cheapest, we're the best, etc....Now that I'm an ex-employee, I have a 2-line family plan with 700 minutes that runs me about $94/ month with discounts and features. We don't come close to the 700 minutes, as I have a company provided phone for business. I think we used 258 this month, outside of M2M and N&W, and even those aren't high. Is there no way to pay less for two lines?
$59.99 for 550
I will do one better! Using your current VZW equipment you can have 2 lines for $80 no contract UNL Text/Talk w/ 20MB. Also, it uses VZW Network.
Msg me for info. I don't think i put up links etc..
Is that a "secret plan" I must ask retention for? I've never seen it on the website. Oh, and is it +$10 for the 2nd line, or $59.99 for two?Originally Posted by Scubahood
$50 for the primary, $10 for the secondary. It's called the Loyalty 550 Family Share plan. Also, this is probably going to get moved to the main forum.Originally Posted by eddieo

Every time you ask whether you can use a VZW smartphone without a data plan, God kills a kitten.
And by God, I mean me - and by kitten, I mean many kittens. So many kittens.

They tell me I must be within 4 months of contract end to qualify. True?Originally Posted by rocketsilence
Not true, any existing customer can switch to the loyalty plans. They just aren't advertised and aren't available to new customers. Any bell of churn will qualify you. All you have to do is say you don't like what you have or can't afford it or whatnot and that will qualify you to move to that plan.Originally Posted by eddieo
My two year family plan is up, I currently pay $82(with employer discount) for 3 lines and 400 minutes. Can I get the Loyalty 550 plan and add a 4th line? Also, what's the best rate I can get for unlimited text?
Question regarding the loyalty plan, which we (my wife and I) are on.....
Can you add a line? One nasty person I spoke to at Staples (I was in for other things and wandered over to mobile) said I can't add or do anything, yada yada yada.
My awesome rep at my authorized seller in my town feels that there is a way to do anything.
She thinks I should be able to upgrade my line to the BB (paying the $30), add my daughter's new line, and add some texting.
I am trying to save for a bit, and not bump up to the FS 700 Select with the unlimited Text for $110/3phones. My daughter knows she can text my BB email and vice versa and save the family plan some $. So we would likely either give her and my wife 250/$5 or just her unlimited m2-m text/500 out/$10 for now.....then likely upgrade the plan in 6 months-year when my job siutation settles down. Along that line, the cost of the BB, and the data plan for it will be business expenses for me so they can be deducted.....
Can I do what she says I can do?
IIRC, some discounts that one may get on the advertized plans don't apply to the Loyalty plan. This happened to my son-in-law who looked in to the Loyalty plan, but his company discount would not apply and he would pay a few pennies less for that 700 minute plan with his company discount than what he would pay for the 550 minute plan that he couldn't get a discount for.
My other option, if the seller cannot do it, is to go to a corp store, and play the card of "heck, this one line on the plan has been with you since the days of my Motorola flip thingy and Nynex mobile". Sure, not a high plan customer, but a long-time.
I'd rather commissions go to my local seller if possible.
Must be an old plan. The family plans now start at 700 minutes except for the unadvertised Loyalty plan at 550 minutes. Back when I had ACII, the lowest was 500 minutes.Originally Posted by t-4-2
Yes, you can get the Loyalty Plan but you have to call CS and ask for it.Originally Posted by t-4-2
You can add another line, $9.99 plus taxes and fees.
Again, the question also to ask is if the authorized sellers have the capability in the system to add a line or options to the loyalty plan or if they can call CS/Corp or if I will have to go to a corporate store.
My local seller seemed to think one possibility, know what you said about you can add a line to loyalty (but if they don't have that option in the authorized seller stores), is perhaps calling CS and saying they needed to do a manual add of a line given "problems" they are having with their systems.......
Again, I would like any commissions to go to my local seller, but if it is going to be a major headache, it might be easier to go to a corporate store....only about 30 minutes from my house.
[EDITED TO ADD]
Not that I want to have to point a finger at my local seller, but they did "rah Rah" tell me I ought to upgrade from my ACII to FS Loyalty to get the extra 50 minutes for no added cost. But they never mentioned anything about possible difficulties in adding lines/options down the road.....and for that matter neither did the CS rep I spoke to who changed me to the FS Loyalty.
I called customer care and they confirmed that I can add a line and upgrade my line to a BB and stay on the loyalty plan. They said it could take longer to do at an authorized seller as they may have to process the changes with a 700 minute plan and then call telesales (or was it customer care) and request that the plan be stepped back down to the loyalty plan.
