    Moto Renegade V950 Firmware Update

New FW update for the Renegade. Dont know what the changes are but havent seen info on it anywhere. New version is WATER2_00.66.00R which is not yet listed on Sprint's support website

Just finished updating with no issues but noticed no difference.

In this thread: http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=192798 SL-10 notes that there is a new hardware version of the V950s. It seems that that the newer Renegades get the firmware that damilkgod has and thus no need to downgrade to this firmware WATER2_00.66.00R. Apparently older Renegades like the ones that lsutigers and myself have can't upgrade OTA to WATER2_01.08.01P if that thread is to be believed. So I'm guessing that this firmware is the older V950s equivalent of WATER2_01.08.01P or a stop gap firmware to eventually get the older V950s up to WATER2_01.08.01P.

Oh and this probably goes in the Motorola forum.
    Thrill me...

i got mine new in june through account services. good solid phone, but a few things that i would love to see. . . . easier text entry in opera mini, that is why i do not bother using capitals. . . . also, you can add words for textimg, but they vanish with a power cycle

I've had mine since March and just checked and received the new download myself.
Takes 9 minutes to install according the prompt at the beginning of the install.
"One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It's very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. . . . Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it." - Ronald Reagan

I actually have good luck with my phone. Usually if you change something over and over and still have issues, the problem is simple, IT MUST BE YOU.

I guess I've lasted so long with it because I haven't had a problem with mine.

    WHAT ?
IF you have been married three times and yet divorced again, you have to come to the realization, it has to be you. I'm just saying.

Seriously I have one little issue when I get like a 100 pic mails in the phone, but other then that, it works great so far. I originally had the Samsung 900, I wanted another flip with the same screen size. This phone fit the bill but w/ perks. I wish I had Q Chat here in the state but other then that, I'm good. I was considering retiring it for another phone after the first of the year, but I don't know if I would like anything else or not. Not within a reasonable price range anyhow.

Nextel was a thriving culture within a company and Sprint SINGLE HANDILY DESTROYED IT.

I wonder whether they have FINALLY fixed the volume for the Speakerphone while on Direct Connect calls?
I am looking to take over a former *Centennial Wireless* Account that was converted to *VERIZON*. Preferably one with a data card, but I won't discriminate if it's a voice plan with a dumbphone/smartphone/whatever. If it's a former Centennial Account and is now a VERIZON account, but still has the Centennial Plan on it, then I AM INTERESTED!

    My firmware version says WATER2_01.08.01P

What does this mean? I tried upgrading but it says there is no update. Is my phone a newer model?

As of today there is an update available on the Motorola Software Update site for the V950:

    http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto...A&language=ENS

Select Sprint, then V950 to download the MSU tool to your PC. After youinstall MSU, open it, and then connect your V950 to your PC by USB cable. Then MSU will tell you if your V950 needs an update.
