Talking HTC Desire 6200 w/android coming to VZW

Found this on Boy Genius Report today.

sounds like an interesting toy besides the Sholes and Calgary. Hoping to see this come out before the new year.

I would love to see something in the styling of the MyTouch on TMobile. Real curious to test the Android waters.

I would love to see the Hero on VZW myself. I am getting something new soon, going to be a tough decision once all these phones come out in the next month or so.

I was really excited about the Hero too, until I saw Sprints version. If it comes to Verizon I won't be getting it if it looks like Sprints.

Remember that SENSE is only a UI and can be put on nearly any stock android device in the future (just needs a little tweaking). As far as I'm concerned, Sprint getting the HERO is a moot point.

Just FYI (I know this is off topic), Sprint's Hero actually looks way better in action. Pocketnow has a video of it and the pictures really don't do it justice.
A slice of bread will always land peanut butter side down. If, by chance, you put peanut butter on both sides of the slice, it will float forever.

Wow, only 5 responses. I figured there would be more happy responses since everyone is not into Moto and different hardware and possibly the amazing Sense UI.

Yeah consider we know nothing except a name (which gives nothing away), I'm not surprised there isn't that much interest.

It's continuously getting better in it's stock form, plus you've got companies like HTC and Motorola making great skins for it. And of course, it's really customizable and hackable just like Windows Mobile, except it's much more modern at it's core. Android is looking pretty exciting lately unlike WM which will be stuck at 6.5 until 7 comes out, which likely won't work on our phones and none of the current applications will work on it.

i heard winmo 7 was coming out in feb. 2010. imo winmo 7 looks quite slick from the pictures i have seen of it, but i don't know how fundamentally simple it is compared to 6.1 and 6.5, which i think is ARM 5 (slow and archaic). personally, i would rather have something that's a lot more functional and uses multiple basic functions of the phone at the same time, which is why i'm really excited for android. it's like the iphone, but on crack. i'm getting edgy waiting for an android handset to drop on VZW. arg....

I tried the MyTouch 3G w/Android on T-Mobile for 3 weeks, I returned it for a Touch Pro 2. Android is nice, but it has a LONG ways to go, no bluetooth voice activated dialing, requires "rooting" (and thus voiding your warranty) to be able to access system files, only supports HVGA screens, is not integrated with Windows Mobile Device Center/Active Sync, no MS Office Apps, slows way down when multiple apps are open (it's HORRIBLE at multi tasking), to name a few. Android is a step above the iPhone, but it's just not as powerful or full featured as WM is, for now anyway.

As much as I would like to be a windows sux person...I'm not going to do that... but I do want to point out one fault. The statment "no MS Office Apps" is not correct. There is a Android version of Documents to Go (Same thing that is available for blackberry and I have on my storm right now.. and it is free... and yes.. I will be switching form my storm to an droid phone.. but I'll be going the moto route
