    You can use Opera Mobile 9.5 on Go Rogers? I've tried it on my X1a and only Opera Mini will work. So far, I found that only Internet Explorer, Ebuddy and Opera Mini will work on my Xperia X1a on goam.com. I actually got a prepaid sim just so I can test it out but it doesn't seem like I can do much with it.

    Even the exchange email doesn't work when it runs no problem on my K850i. I'm going to try it on a Iphone 3GS and an HTC Magic later on.

    is the LG Xenon a good candidate for Unlimited Mobile Browsing Plan?

    does it support apps like Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, and Flickr?

    I'm on their site, and they're listing the iPhone for Unlimited Mobile Browser.

    As for the BlackBerry Curve 8900, it's been eligible for this plan since before the change, so that doesn't suggest it works across the board with all smartphones. Still looks like the same collection of 8900, Touch Diamond and E71.

    As for JoikuSpot, that would certainly be interesting, especially since the free version only allows HTTP access - if you use Opera 10 in Turbo mode they probably really couldn't tell the difference between that on your computer and Opera Mini.
    The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband.

    Don't send me PMs for questions that can be asked publicly.

    Doesn't it say ON DEVICE MOBILE INTERNET BROWSING and not Unlimited Internet Browsing???

    I had, in the past, written that the BB 8900, HTC Touch Diamond and Nokia E71 were eligable for the Unlimited Browsing. I had based this on what I found on the web site. But, you can't believe rogers.com. I was educated by a more senior member (thanks again for all the info, its always been 100% correct) and told that only the Nokia E71 and Nokia N95 (and the more recently released Nokia 5800) are the only Smartphones that can use the Unlimited Browsing.

    We all know Rogers site is pretty useless. There is conflicting info everywhere. And that many sales people and CSRs do not know much. You would think they would try to keep up to date with all the internal info they have access to rather than give out incorrect info over and over again.

    I don't see Rogers letting the iPhones, Androids, WinMo's , and Berrys ect use the Unlimited Browsing. Not for $10. THIS IS ROGERS WE ARE TALKING ABOUT.....

    I know some people have UMB with the N95, but others have reported they can't, so it seems to be on a case by case basis or whim of the CSR.

    I wouldn't be surprised if the issue is the website not being accurate, but there isn't a huge amount of sense to the rules for the UMB with some S60 devices being allowed. It wouldn't be farfetched for them to allow the Touch Diamond simply to compete with similar offerings from Telus and Bell with the Touch Diamond. The 8900 doesn't make any sense though, since you'd need BIS anyway.

    Just to be sure, can I use the exchange support on the E71 with the UMB?

    I have the "old" $15.00 Value Pack. It contains
    * Call Display with Name Display
    * Enhanced Voicemail
    * 125 Messaging Bundle (Text)
    * 50 Picture/Video Messages
    * Unlimited Mobile Browsing Plan
    * WhoCalled™
    * Mobile Backup

    The new $15 dollar one includes
    Includes:

    * Call Display with Name Display
    * Enhanced Voicemail
    * 1,000 Messaging Bundle (for Text, Email, IM, Picture/Video Messages)
    * New! Unlimited Mobile Browsing Plan
    * WhoCalled™
    * Mobile Backup

    Do I still get the same benefits as the new one? Do I have to call them and get them to change it?

    You have to call and change; My brother's line is still on the old $15 value pack and has 125 text messages. If he changes he will lose the $5 student credit for subscribing to $15/20VP with a student25 last yr

    Toronto not sure

    I just picked up a SE C510a and subscribed to the new $15 value pack, so that means all of the apps on the phone are unlimited browsing? I know the msn app is, what about google maps, and downloading from sites other than "rogers mall"

    thanks

    You should be ok. The SE C510a is a non smartphone that is definately eligable for the Unlimited Browsing. You can use Gmail and Google Maps as they are now included. Previously on the $7 Browsing you could only use apps that would work through the GOROGERS apn (access point also known as goam.com). Some phones do not allow you to choose the access point and some apps like Google Maps would only work with internet.com. From what I've been told, if your phone won't let you choose the access point to use and automatically uses internet.com for Google Maps, then it is included with the Unlimited Browsing.

    Downloading may or may not incur charges. I have downloaded free ringtones, themes and wallpapers from a few sites with no charges. It may depend on what you try to download. You could try downloading something then wait 4 hours or so and check your usage online on rogers.com. That is if your online usage thing works for you (it hasn't on my roommates LG Vu). If you do have charges, Rogers may give you a one time removal of the charges if you claim that a CSR or sales person said it was ok. They will only forgive a certain amount. And you don't want to get stuck with a big bill if they don't forgive it.....

    PayGo allows non Rogers phones and Smartphones. I don't know if you can even use Google Maps without being charged, if you phone automatically uses internet.com to access it. I heard that you can't use Google Maps without charges unless you have a phone that allows Maps to work through goam.com (GOROGERS). But, I dint know thus for sure as I don't have PayGo. Rogers should add a real prepaid Data plan that will allow more stuff. But, it would be pricier. I'm sure some would pay it....
